Indulging in a culinary masterpiece. 🍽️ [Bronze & Brass]

In today's times, many household uses the modern elegant dishware for cooking. They have the best cookware and dishware from the expensive shop. The prices of these dishware ranges from budget to premium. But in traditional Indian set many household uses the bronze, brass and copper dishware for serving and cooking food. The tradition still continues at many places and these cookware were given to the bride for setting up their new household. Today, I went on to buy some new utensils made up of Bronze and Copper for my neice wedding.

In Indian context of cooking and eating utensils, "pital" refers to brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, while "kansa" refers to bronze, an alloy of copper and tin. Kansa is generally considered a healthier option for eating and cooking due to its non-reactive nature with acidic foods, while brass is more commonly used for cooking and serving. Even though these practices looks quite unorthodox, in todays times there were lot of rush in the market. The upcoming marriage season has made rhe marker very crowded. It took us 3 hrs to make a purchase.

In many cultures, cookware and dishware are seen as symbols of a bride's role as a homemaker and nurturer. The gifts are a way of wishing the couple well in their new life together and expressing support for their future household.

In Indian weddings, pital (brass) and kansa (bronze) utensils are used for both symbolic and practical reasons. Pital, particularly, is associated with purity and auspiciousness, while kansa, a combination of copper and tin, is valued for its potential health benefits and is often gifted as a lasting reminder of the wedding.

Brass is considered a "satvik" metal, meaning it possesses qualities of purity and goodness, making it suitable for religious ceremonies and rituals like weddings. Brass has a classic and sophisticated look that can add a touch of elegance to any wedding setting. Kansa, like brass, is considered a sacred metal and is often used in religious ceremonies and offerings. Kansa utensils are believed to have various health benefits, including improving digestion, boosting immunity, and purifying food.

In anyway, the Indian wedding has alwsys been big fat ocassion and these preparerion make them ever grand. Due to high demand during wedding season the prices were alwsys on the higher side. Still the bride family make these purchase and still make sure to continue the family tradition and culture.

In good faith - Peace!!
