The puzzling question of life after death remains a controversial topic in every religion. Every religion have their own saying and belief about the existence of life after death. Majority of the community belive in reincarnation. For many, the idea of reincarnation offers a way to understand why there seems to be so much suffering in the world, and what happens to our consciousness after death. It can provide a sense of cosmic justice and purpose. The concept of reincarnation can offer a sense of hope and meaning, helping individuals cope with difficult experiences and find a sense of purpose in life.

Reincarnation is a core tenet of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. These religions see rebirth as part of a cycle of life, death, and rebirth, with the goal of achieving spiritual liberation or enlightenment. Reincarnation can be seen as a chance for the soul to learn and grow through multiple lifetimes, developing virtues and overcoming negative tendencies. Many believe that reincarnation is linked to the law of karma, where actions in one life influence the conditions of the next. This can provide a sense of fairness and order in the universe. The idea of rebirth can ease anxieties about death and the unknown, offering a sense of continuity and the possibility of future experiences.

Garuda purana

The Sanskrit text Garuda Purana is one of 18 Mahapuranas in Hinduism. The Garuda Purana emphasizes the importance of leading a virtuous life to attain a better rebirth and eventually achieve liberation from the cycle of suffering. The entire cycle after death are elaborated in following steps :

  • At death, the soul is reviewed by Yama, the god of death, and his attendants, who examine the person's good and bad deeds, as well as their intentions and thoughts.

  • Based on the karma, the soul is either sent to heaven (Svargaloka) for enjoyment, or to one of the hells (Naraka) for suffering and punishment.

  • The period of suffering in hell is determined by the nature and severity of the sins committed.

  • After a period in heaven or hell, the soul is reborn in another body, often a human body, but potentially also in animal or other forms, depending on its karma.

  • The soul continues to experience the cycle of life, death, and rebirth (samsara) until it achieves Moksha, or liberation, from the cycle of suffering.

The concept of reincarnation is central to many religions and spiritual traditions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and certain forms of Christianity. The belief in rebirth or reincarnation, is a matter of faith and not scientific fact. There is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove its existence. Whether or not to believe in reincarnation is a personal decision based on faith, philosophical perspectives, and cultural beliefs.

In good faith - Peace!!

It's indeed a matter of faith, but it's also about having seen details that point to there being something more than what we're seeing on this earthly plane. And I think the secret is to enjoy the present time and live it virtuously. Whatever happens next has to be good.

Greetings!

The theme of reincarnation is an approach that many people have through the religions they identify with, it is also something that people want to believe in, thus better accepting the theme of death.

This reincarnation of a thing is a mystery that no one has the idea of how it works, some get reborn while some exist in another city to live their normal lives at least I have heard a story on someone who died and still exists in another city to live his life

Where I come from, we believe in reincarnation. And there are names given to them. I was named "Babatunde" meaning "grandpa is back". They consult oracles to know who a new born baby is, and sometimes, they come with exact marks at birth similar to a person that had passed away in the family. It's really true that some religions believe in reincarnation. Some cultures also don't play with it.
