Education is a powerful tool that empowers individuals and transforms societies. It is an investment in the future, leading to a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable world. Education is vital for both individual and societal advancement. It equips individuals with knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities, fostering personal growth and opening doors to opportunities.

The Indian education system has evolved significantly, particularly after India's independence. The Indian education system has evolved from the ancient Gurukul system, emphasizing holistic learning, to the modern digital online system. India have witness a significant post-independence developments in the education sector. Initially, education was informal and personalized, centered around residential schools called Gurukuls, where students learned from a guru. This evolved into a more formal system with the introduction of universities like Nalanda and Taxila, and later, with British influence, a focus on Western education and the English language. After India's independence, the system underwent further changes, including the introduction of the Right to Education Act and the integration of modern scientific knowledge with traditional values.

Right to Education

The introduction of the Right to Education Act guaranteeing free and compulsory education for children aged 6-14 has been a revolutionary steps of formal education. However, it faces many challenges, from restrictions of girls education to lack of adequate facilities. In my country, deep rooted gender biases and societal norms often prioritize boys education, leading to lower enrollment and higher dropout rates for girls, especially at higher education levels. Traditional beliefs about the role of women, early marriage, and household responsibilities continue to impact girls education. In some cases fear of violence, harassment, and lack of safe transportation to and from school / colleges discourage parents from sending their daughters to school. However, the system has evolved and now people are focussing on improving girls education.

Encouraging girls education

India's perspective on girls education has been evolving, with a growing recognition of its importance for both individual empowerment and national development. While significant progress has been made in improving access and enrollment, challenges related to gender inequality, social norms, and safety concerns persist, particularly in marginalized communities. Government Initiatives like "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) and the Right to Education Act aim to promote girls enrollment, provide financial support, and ensure access to free education. Now everyone wants their kids to study. In recent times, in many academics the girls outperform boys and setting a new benchmark for the generation to come. Be it the school level or higher studies, girls were progressing faster setting big examples for others.

In today's time, you may find equivalent number of boys and girls in schools. There is no specific ratios are followed. But the increasing cost of education is going to prove a major hindrances in coming days. Education has now becomes a well established money making business. The poor section and middle section of the society are more sufferer as they unable to bear the cost of higher education. It will be a bigger challenge in coming days to provide higher education to children.

In good faith - Peace!!
