Earning money, better than begging.

In todays time earning money is not a big task. People can easily make money, by sitting at the comfort of home. My dad often used to say that, 'If a person wants to earn money then he can earn money by doing anything. He needs to work diligently'. Many people just wanted to earn money in dream, they do not want to make any amount of effort. Such person always fail and blame the luck as well the their destiny for it. Do not expect such people to make the name for themselves. Recently I had an encounter with a young guy, though not in best of his condition still he is making money by his own. He is running a zero investment business and happily engaged in his work. I saw the passion in him to earn money.

While travelling in the train, I met this guy. He does not wanted to be clicked so I do not have any picture of him. But he was carrying 2 heavy bundle of cloth with him, and sitting at the train door. He appears to be a kind of "gypsy", who does not have any place to live. Still he is making INR 2000 ($ 25) approx per week with his self starter business.

This was unexpected at first looking at his poot condition. I looked at the heavy bundle he was carrying along, and found they have good quantity of tree leaves. It didn't took me long recgnise them as Mahua leaves. We have abundant of them in our village. The scientific name of the tree Madhuca longifolia.

The tree is large, shady, and deciduous, and is found in the central and north Indian plains and forests. The leaves are oval and pointed, up to 23 cm (9 in) long. Butter tree, Honey tree, Butternut tree, Mahua, Mahuwa, Mohulo, Iluppai, Vippa chettu.

My curiosity forced me to have a chat with this guy. He was hesitate to talk, but on my frequent questioning he said that, he is going to sell these leaves in Prayagraj. He used to make bundle of 25-30 leaves and sell them to the Paan vendors. (paan is an Indian mouth freshness made up of beetle leaves). As per him, the vendor sell the paan wrapping in these leaves. It reminded me of one such packages inhad during my trip to Puri.

When I had them, i did not able to uncover the little money making business model. But listening to this guy really made me to wonder, how much he actually would be making. Paan consumption is very high is certain of India. Kolkatta, Bihar, Orissa, And UTtar pradesh have major consumptionnof beetle leaves paan. I have seen vendor wrapping these beetle leaves paan in plastic or paper bit recently they have chosen the economy friendly mode of wrapping the paan.

This guy used to visit the nearby forests collect the leaves and sell them to the pann vendor and thereby making 100% profits. There is no monetory investment involved except some amount of time and effort. He used to visit twice in a week to sell their mahua leaves. The idea was incredible considering, there is no risk involved and the demand is huge.

The brief chat and discovering his way of earning money reminded me of my dads words. Those who wants to make money can do that dilligently by applying their effort and mind. Atleast I rate this guy far better than the beggars who made money by begging from others on the streets. I really appreciate this guy's effort, especially his mindset. He is more inclined to put his effort father than fooling others through begging.
