Disconnected to reconnect.

The dependency on phone has been increasing day by day. We are so habitual to the gadgets that life seems incomplete without its. From navigation to banking to fitness, everything is controlled by the use of phone. Not only the excessive use of phones leads to addiction. There are many instances where we are losing the personal touch from each other. Be it parents. relatives or friends or co worker everyone appears far away. At homes there are many instances where what used to be a family affairs , people were glued to their mobile screen. In-fact I believe the phone are eating up our personal spaces.

The innovation of mobile phones are meant for a great transformation of connecting people. But over the time we have realized that we becomes addicted to mobile. From kids to youth to adults everyone seems busy with their mobile phone. The dependency on mobile is such that we are forgetting to meet and greet each other in a more proper way. Few Aya ago, I went to meet a relatives, rather then welcoming me at the doorstep, the person just open the door and went inside while busy doing something on his mobile phone. There was a time, when used to get much warm welcome. But things have changed a lot over the years. This addiction is often worsened by using smartphones as a primary tool for social interaction, which can paradoxically lead to increased loneliness despite being "connected". I think the primary steps to control the mobile usage begins at home.

Digital world, real life.

It is the responsibility of the elders at home to keep a check upon mobile usage of our younger one. I know the technological space is moving rapidly, and keep a track with the pace we all need to stay in touch with the progress and for this the mobile phones helps us in many way. Seeing it a utmost part of our lifestyle, I always make sure to put certain limititation of mobile usage at home. There is a specific time slot at which the kids at home is allowed to use the mobile. Infact I dont allow them the internet access. This allows us to connect more meaningful. I know spending time with family are more precious than anything. But seeing how overuse of mobile are eating up the precious moments. So it gets mandatory to put a blanket ban on mobile usage at home.

Tech-life balance.

Banning phones at home can be highly beneficial for reducing digital addiction, improving sleep, and fostering better family, social, and mental well-being. I have seen a lot of improvement in the young kids. I made sure to engage them with mental or physical sports rather than keeping them active on mobile screen. Reduced screen time helps alleviate mental health issues and reduced attention spans. It can help preserve childhood innocence by limiting early access to inappropriate content. I face certain objection on the banning, but gradually things gets better. The most important thing they understand how to grow mindfully with elders experience and Innovative advanced knowledge. I don't see it as an act that may break any law or right. It is the duty of the parents to nurturing their kids and they know what are the best way to carry them ahead in their life.

In good faith - Peace!!

I'm glad my kids were grown before I had to worry much about screen time!

While I agree with this, I think a lot of it depends on what the phone is being used for. I have a niece that used to spend much of her time on her phone reading fan fiction stories. Now, if she was sitting reading a book would people hassle her like they do when she is on a phone. I think the content makes a huge difference regardless of the medium.
