Connecting with the divine through prayer.
Coming across people praying always fascinates me. It gives a sense that people still belive in the existence of gods. And the humanity is in safe hands. I have seen people prayinh in the morning, before any meal, before the bed time, or even at certain importsnt event in lif.
Yesterday, I was busy making plans for our friends meet up this Sunday. On which one guy backed off, saying he has prayer to attend in the church. I never been to church and was curious to know how people pray in the church. There are many way people offer their prayers. Bowing, kneeling, prostration, keeping silent, standardized rituals etc are some forms of prayers. One thing common in every prayer mode that I noticed or belive is everyone closes their eyes. I am quite familiar with our prayer method, we close our eyes and fold our hands and pray. I have seen my Christian friend praying before a meal with a closed eye. There is a special significance of closing eyes and praying.
Closed Eyes prayers
Prayer is a way of meditating and establishing a cord with the almighty. It is a way of making a communication with the God either to thank, to ask for help, to ask for forgiveness or to ask for blessing. It is also a spiritual means to prevent illness, cure disease, or improve health. Closing our eyes at times of praying has multiple benefits and this made me to drill down a bit into world of prayers.
closing eyes helps us to isolate ourself from any form of distraction in the surroundings. Generally in religious crowded place , people find it hard to concentrate.
it develop inner peace along with a sense of tranquillity. This makes people to focus more.
closing our eyes represent the fact that God is in control of our life and nothing can happen to us without his will.
focusing with closed eyes gives the purpose and better understanding of life. We will be without any confusion and pray with clean mind.
It is the belief in people about the existence that makes them closer to God. When it comes to our prayer, we close our eyes with folded hands. It has a special significance too.
Prayers with Folding hands
Once I went to a laughing club, they use to laugh and clap with hands. I never understand the significance of clapping, but an old guy said that by clapping our hand we stimulates all the veins and nervous system in the body. It also help in keeping the body alert. This made me to wonder that even palms of our hand plays so important role for our well being.
When it comes to prayer with folded hands, it highlights our sincere gratitude and faith towards the almighty. It is considered to be an act of surrender to the supreme power.
It has certain significance too :
folded hands helps in neutralizing tye negative and positive energy. Our left and right hands are the representation of it.
it helps you to get relief from stress and increase your focus with a calm mind.
Folded hands create a sense of inner self awareness.
However, many people are not aware about proper way of praying with folded hands. When we are in praying posture, makes sure that our palms are joined. We should hold them together shaped like a lotus. This posture is known as Anjali mudra in Vedic science. People with yoga knowledge are aware about this shape.
While praying, we should make sure that we hold our folded hands higher in front of the neck or lower before the stomach. People often do mistakes by holding in front of nose or mouth or above the head. That is not the correct way.
The Divine connection
Recently, a video of a sage meditating in sonw covered mountain gone viral on social media. It shows the deep faith that many people.have in their almighty. I am not advocating or supporting any religion but considering the presence of divine power, it is important to try out connecting with them. And best waybis whatever suits us. Prayer is a way to establish a connection many people do not opose to this practice. They pray whenever they get time and experince the peace and happiness in their life.
There is no doubt that a divine force is controlling the whole universe. Every religion has its own way of connecting with the divine.
But I wonder how those hell bound or the people who don't even believe in the existence of any God find peace in their life.
It's strange, but v can't force people.to follow...somewhere in their life they do realize but by that time it's get too.late
Bhai aaj ke date par prayers zaroori hain. Logon ko lagat hain ki bhagwaan par vishwas karna yaa aashtha rakhna modern logon ka kaam nahi hain. Pooja Paath sirf purane generation aur old logon ke liye hain.
Meditation nahi karne ka matalab hai decline in focus and inner peace.
Pichle 2-3 saalon se mein daily prayer karne ke koshish karta hun. Mann thoda shant rahata hain aur life kuch nahi to thodi easy to lagti hain.
Thanks for reminding everyone that no matter how busy you are we can still mediate and pray 🙏🙏🙏

Bhai...I am.from.thr old.school...I do.belive in the existence of the divine power...apart from the various example that are put in front of us like the Kedarnath incident, if you regularly do the prayers or meditate or have belief.. u will.fell connected...
There are different ways of praying, according to belief. In my case I like to meditate a lot and as you mention closing my eyes is isolating, concentrating and being one with the divinity, higher being or universe. I loved reading this post!✨
Thank you so much....meditation alwsys gives us the feeling of oneness...with the supreme power....I do.that sometimes literally feel.connected.....how long hours u do that...
The moments of silence are the ones I take advantage of and now I don't have many, so at night before going to sleep or when I am in the middle of nature. But then chatting with the supremo.... all day long, always present.
That is the way to pray....silence plays an important role in meditating....but b4 bed I alwsys find u checking on Hive...
hahahahahaha when I close Hive!!!🤣
