A quiet escape, a world of knowledge. 📚

In the fast forwarding digital lifestyle, people are losing the touch of physical books and periodicals. When I asked my nephew to join a library for study, he simply laughed as I have told something different. But the grass roots of all the the studies in ealier days begins with library. I first step into the world of books in my school and like the silence that prevail inside the rooms full of books.

In earlier times places or spaces that house and provide access to a collection of resources, including books, periodicals, newspapers, manuscripts, films, maps, prints, documents are called Libraries. The space has now been upgraded into digital formats like e-books and audiobooks. The primary purpose of a library is to provide access to knowledge and information, serving as a hub for education, research, and leisure. Beyond lending books, libraries offer services like computer access, community events, educational programs, and quiet study areas, fostering literacy, intellectual freedom, and cultural diversity.

a place for learning, reflection, and inspiration

Libraries are vital resources for individuals, communities, and society, promoting learning, research, and access to information for all, regardless of background or financial means. The atmosphere inside libraries is typically characterized by a focus on quiet study and preservation, with environmental factors like temperature, humidity, and lighting carefully managed to protect books and create a conducive learning environment. Libraries aim for a quiet environment to facilitate concentration, with background noise levels generally kept low. This is what makes the the atmosphere too conducive for studies.

I have seen students finds libraries too favourable place to study. I have been in that life and find library a perfect place to enhance my knowledge. Those books which was not available in market, can easily be available in these space. Anybody can get access and finish their studies on time. Libraries provide safe and welcoming spaces for people to come together, learn, and explore, regardless of their background or circumstances. Libraries are valuable resources for research, offering access to databases, online journals, and other scholarly materials. They offer a wide range of materials, catering to diverse interests and needs, from fiction and non-fiction to educational resources and cultural heritage materials.

A library is place that supports many individuals and caters the need in various ways. From job seekers to lifelong learners to other individuals who seek the information. Libraries provide opportunities for personal and professional development through programs, courses, and access to information.

Books are the windows to new worlds.

I personally believe, how digital we becomes the real fun of studying lies upon physical research through reading various books. Studies suggest that reading physical books can lead to better comprehension and memory retention compared to e-readers. The act of turning pages and the physical cues of a book can encourage slower, more deliberate processing of information. The feel of holding a book, turning pages, and the smell of paper can create a more immersive and satisfying reading experience. I always enjoyed being into a library in my university days. It is worth to be part of such silence spaces.

In good faith - peace!!

I used to hate going to the library as a kid. My sister loved it. I can appreciate it now, but back then it was just such a pain for me. I actually ended up working in a library later in life for a short time! Now my office sits right next to a library.

This is a typical example of me!

I easily forget things when I read them online, but give me traditional books, I will read, make notes, and have higher retention memory

Technology shouldn't overtake Library, it remains vital and relevant to learners and researchers

Reading is fun in the library, although we used digital device's to do most reading nowadays.

Personally, I hardly go a month without touching a book, and places I locate books are in the library.

Things have changed, and the young ones do not see visiting the library as something necessary, just give them the device, and they will learn whatever subject they want to.

Yet, its not the same with me, I think it's about what we see, and used in reading when we were young.

You just make me recall the old good day in college where visiting libraries to borrow books for reading was such a great fun
