A journey of hope, love, and unwavering support.

In many Indian communities, childlessness, especially for women, can carry significant social stigma and pressure, with fertility often seen as a woman's primary role. Childless couples often face significant social pressure and emotional distress due to deeply ingrained cultural norms that prioritize having children, leading to feelings of inadequacy, isolation, and marital strain. While the societal pressure to have children remains strong, particularly for women, there's a growing awareness of both infertility and the choice to be childfree, with increasing access to fertility treatments and a shift towards more open discussions about reproductive choices. Surrogacy making the life much easier for childless couple.

Indian culture often views childlessness as a failure, especially for women, leading to societal judgment and questioning. In rural areas, the expectation of children as a source of support in old age further exacerbates the pressure. Family members, particularly elders, may pressure couples to have children, leading to conflict and strained relationships. There are many cases that a person made multiple marriages just to bring baby in their family. The lack of children can impact a couple's social life and sense of belonging.

With the changing times and technological innovation, people have started changing their attitude. There is a growing awareness and acceptance of childfree choices, particularly in urban areas and among younger generations. However at the same time, the Surrogacy way of conciving babies allow people to choose alternate way of getting into parenthood. Surrogacy offers childless couples the possibility of having a biological child by enabling a surrogate mother to carry a pregnancy created with their genetic material (or donor eggs/sperm), fulfilling their dream of parenthood. But the question if the method is ethical or not alwsys keep hovering in people mind.

In my personal opinion, Surrogacy can be a valuable option for individuals or couples who are unable to conceive or carry a pregnancy to term due to medical reasons, offering them the opportunity to have biological children. Surrogacy can allow intended parents to experience the joy of parenthood, and the surrogate mother can provide a nurturing environment for the child during pregnancy. In the mean time All parties involved in a surrogacy arrangement, including the surrogate, the intended parents, and the child, should have a clear understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and the potential risks and benefits of surrogacy. Surrogacy practices and ethical considerations can vary across cultures, and it is important to be sensitive to the cultural norms and values of the parties involved.

In good faith - Peace!!

Surrogacy has indeed helped couples with fertility issues experience parenthood and although cultural norms vary about the conception of surrogacy but practically I do not see anything wrong with it.
