Busy bees in the garden

I spent the morning trying to fix up our old shed. It's absolutely rotten but I'm sure I can make it last another year or two! It's a warm day here today so I thought I'd take a break and get the camera out for a short while. I saw bees doing their thing around the hot lips so thought they'd make things interesting. Talk about a test of patience due to:

  1. They're very small
  2. They're fast
  3. They don't stay in one place for very long

I don't have a macro lens so these have been cropped quite heavily.

Definitely getting stuck into this one.

Bit of an action shot here (all luck due to quick multiple shots!). My favourite out of them all.

Never realised they had suck colour on their backs.

I'm assuming the big blobby bit is the pollen? I'm far from a bee expert.

Quite enjoyed myself taking these so will have to try think of some other things to snap.

They have been active in our garden. Just need the right plants. You got some great shots.

I'm trying to do more to entice them. I have a little wildflower area in one corner. I think I need to extend it a little.
