My Frustration - ATH

This week seemed to have been the most frustrating week for me in regards to the internet. I don't know why all the networks in Nigeria have chosen to provide terrible internet. The frustration reached its peak yesterday.

I happen to have a job to complete for someone with less than 10 days left for me to do this, and to be able to do it, I need good internet. This requires me to download quite a lot of things, take some tutorials on YouTube, and spend a lot of time learning on the job, as I don't have much time left.

It now happens that the internet chose to become utterly bad when I needed it to be its best. I have been spending a lot of time sleeping and waiting for the internet to get better while crying that I don't have enough time left to do all I need to do. If I am to count, I have approximately 4 days left to complete this job, and I have not even set up my working environment.

The most annoying thing was how I wasted quite a lot of data yesterday when I was trying to download some required files for this job. This file is approximately 10 GB of data, and it failed at least five times after successfully downloading over 50% of it. The most annoying was the last failed download, which took over 8 hours to download and yet failed at 92%.

I wanted to die yesterday. I was angry and felt like breaking things, as I would have started the download again with extra data to spend. I have been frustrated since the beginning of this week with how the internet has been bad and I have not been able to do the things I needed to do, but yesterday topped the chart. It was the all-time high (ATH) of my frustration and anger.

To feel better, I just had to try downloading it one more time, leave the laptop, and try to take a nap. To my surprise, after 45 minutes to 1 hour of my nap, the internet chose to be good, and I woke up to see it had all downloaded.

I said to myself, There is no way I am not blogging about this with all the time and money I have wasted plus the frustration I have felt. I just need a way to calm down my anger.

No hay que frustrarse, debemos aplicar un principio del PNL, primero concentrate analizar las cosas que suceden y realizar una matriz FODA, posteriormente evaluas cual es el problema, verificas las causas y efectos y allí desarrollas las estrategias para salir de ese conflicto emocional!!!

It has been like that I have also been switching from one network to the other for some days now.

I don't know what happened to them this week that they chose to be misbehaving. But anyways, it looks like they are getting better.

I totally understand how frustrating it can’t be. Airtel did me dirty last week and early this week.

My sub even expired. Like it was ‘searching’ for like a whole day. I went outside, I switched off my phone, and put it on, it was the same thing oo 😭 at that moment I started wishing I had another SIM card or I was using a phone with two SIM cards. I have already planned on buying another SIM card, just to be on the safer side.

I hope you are able to do what you need to do. Relax and take some nice food , as I know you to be a foodie and don’t let it spoil your mood.

Someone was telling me that Airtel's data always finished quickly, compared to MTN, and recently, both networks had been bad.

Maybe, due to the numerous complaints, they have worked on it. The internet speed is already fair.

Can't say I know exactly how you must have felt in that moment, but I have had similar experiences. Sorry about it all, man. I hope you feel better now that you got to write about it for clarity and relief.

Unfortunately many of us go through similar and hateful experiences with the internet service provided by many companies in our countries.

Undoubtedly, we need to come up with an alternative and efficient plan as soon as possible to achieve an Internet service that will provide us with greater security margins when doing any work and that will allow us to somehow reduce the loss of our valuable time and money.

However, when it comes to managing our emotions, it was Confucius who warned us: "If your problems have a solution, don't worry; if your problems have no solution, don't worry".

I however like better the simple way the Wizard More expresses the proverb: "When there is what there is, there is what there is"

I understand that it can be frustrating, but I ( try to ) treat those kind of days ( and believe me they happen quite often, here in Portugal ) as a chance to take a break, go outside, enjoy nature.

I hope you manage to find that calm inside yourself, one of those days. Some things we just can't control.

OMG.....I can't just begin to imagine how you felt yesterday.
The network providers has been doing a very bad job for a while now that you'd even notice your data being exhausted without being able to make use of the internet sef . I hope you're feeling much better and less stressed now....

I can totally empathize with your frustration regarding the internet issues. It's incredibly annoying when you have important work to do and the internet decides to act up.

However, your perseverance paid off in the end, and it's great to hear that the download finally completed.

Sometimes, a little break and a nap can work wonders in calming down the frustration. Wishing you smoother internet and a less frustrating time ahead!

When I find myself in frustrating situations like this, I just force myself to sleep to keep my mind off it. I am glad it downloaded eventually.
