| The history of Toszek Castle probably dates back to the 10th or 11th century, when a wooden stronghold was decided to be built there. At the beginning of the 15th century, a brick castle was built in this place. Then it was destroyed by the Hussites in 1429, but rebuilt by Przemysław Toszecki - a prince from the Oświęcim line, from the Piast dynasty. In the 16th century, the castle passed into the hands of the Habsburgs and was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. After a fire in 1811, the castle fell into ruin after a fire. In the years 1957-1963 it was partially rebuilt. | Historia zamku w Toszku sięga prawdopodobnie X lub XI wieku, kiedy to postanowiono tam drewniany gród. Na początku XV wieku, został w tym miejscu zbudowany zamek murowany. Następnie zniszczony przez Husytów w 1429 roku, ale odbudowany przez Przemysława Toszeckiego – księcia z linii oświęcimskiej, z rodu Piastów. W XVI wieku zamek przeszedł w ręce Habsburgów i został przebudowany w stylu renesansowym. Po pożarze w 1811 roku, zamek popadł w ruinę po pożarze. W latach 1957-1963 został częściowo odbudowany. |
| Today, the castle is the seat of the Cultural Center "Zamek w Toszku". Entry to its premises is free. For a small fee (PLN 15) you can visit the Historical Exhibition Center. Every year, a knight's tournament is held in the castle, organized by the knight brotherhood, with which I was once associated (over 20 years ago). | Współcześnie zamek stanowi siedzibę Centrum Kultury „Zamek w Toszku”. Wejście na jego teren jest bezpłatne. Za drobną opłatą (15 zł) można zwiedzać Centrum Ekspozycji Historycznych.
