Final Week Wallet

Little bit of a down turn for the last week back we're still in a much better place than we were 4-5 weeks ago so we finished on an average time. 1 week earlier and we would have nailed it.

Who would have guessed that XRP would have been our biggest holding by the end of this? It was trading at $0.43 when we bought 1346 2 yers ago, and then we bought around 230 more at a cheaper price. We hold 50% more ADA than we started with, so we must have rebalanced into it as well. we bought 2193 at $0.37 and then another 1500 after. SOL is looking small but we bought 19.42 at $20.98 and sold alot as it mooned to over $200, leaving us with 5.85.

Each crypto has its own story; LTC is another good one. We doubled our starting amount by rebalancing into it, and then it took off after we stopped rebalancing for the last 6 months. We basically bought it cheap and sold it high 🤑.

Starting dollar balance was $7137.90,
ending dollar balance was $16,510.37
so $9372.47 profit!

The XV token price took a small dip from last week. HIVE outperformed the basket this week as it only dropped a few per cent while our basket dropped more.

Lost 1792 in HIVE value this week for the reason above, we finished with 46,039 profit.

Also lost some dollar value this week cause the market is correcting a little. We end with a $9372 profit.

Balancing VS Non-Balancing

As the project is now over we can look into a few things and see if rebalancing a portfolio is worth the time and fees. Below is a chart showing how much each crypto in our basket would have been worth if we held onto the starting amount vs rebalancing.

Blue = rebalancing
Orange = No rebalancing

Most are up or down a little. The standouts are BTC and SOL, which would have both been worth much more if we had never rebalanced. On the other end, the worst performers were POL and ARB.

Rebalanced Portfilio = $16,576.69
Non Balanced Portilio = $17,398.94

There's not that much difference between the 2, I mean if the market were to have jumped 5% today, the results would flip around. The real winners are exchanges and LP providers. In total, we ended up paying around 1.8% of the total basket in fees for withdrawing from trust wallet to Binance, converting everything into USDT, then HIVE then paying to deposit on hive.engine.

It's interesting looking at our buy-in prices from 2 years ago. I notice a pattern

SOL is up 691%
XRP is up 444%
BTC is up 282%

All the best-performing cryptos are top 10 cryptos; the further you go down the worse the results are.

POL is down 74%
ARB is down 69%
OP is down 60%

You would think that smaller cap crypto would have a better chance to increase compared to top cryptos like BTC and ETH but over the past 2 years, you'd have done every well to hold only the top 5 cryptos. BTC, ETH, XRP, BNB and SOL have had some of the best returns. I did some quick numbers, and if we'd invested in only the top 5 cryptos, we'd have cashed out $29,194. Anyways, my point is maybe just investing into the biggest cryptos by market cap is the smart play long term.

Round-Up

That is a wrap. It's been fun 2 years operating this project for SPI, and the comments and engagement have been great. Big shout out to all who subscribed and stayed on top of the weekly updates. Pretty much everything went as it was planned to go, with the exception of 2025 getting off to a very rocky start.

All in all, everyone is walking away with a 236% profit which i think kicks the ass out of anything else on HIVE for the past 2 years.

Will we do it again and reboot in another 2 years? Maybe,... we'll have to see what the conditions on HIVE on like, users up are down and the likes.
