Early morning protest

Just the second week of this month of January, very early in the morning of a Monday, there was a protest by youths of the town for inadequate electricity supply in the town. This protest was staged at the major road that my street is linked to so I got know what was happening when I walked out to the road that early morning.

Everyone was in support of the protest because since November last year, we haven't had a reasonable flow of electricity. There was burning of tyres on the road and that caused a halt of vehicles using the road.

While it was fun, with the big boys agitating with the shirts off and with with logs of woods in their hands, we saw them suddenly removing the blockages on the road in a very rushy manner. It was as if they were instructed by the president of the world, maybe Donald Trump to remove the blockage immediately. We were still wondering why they're doing and suddenly, we hard sirens blasting and coming towards the spot. The boys blocking the roads as soon as they heard that, they pick race and disappeared from the scene. As the sirens got closer, we saw a convoy of black jeeps with armies in their car leading the way in a speedy mode. So it was clear, the boys protesting got an information that a particular government was coming and they had to disappear and stop the protest. As we saw that, we began to murmur and labeled the boys as cowards for running away from the protest because a politician was coming and that's actually the best way to communicate their pains to the government if they had stayed and stopped the politician from passing.

It's easier for us to say but to the boys, they didn't want to get beaten because nobody, as the situation stands in Nigeria, is bigger than the government
