Hi Everyone,

SLQ_2026_2_THUMB_RESULTS.jpg

It is time to announce the winner of the second Sapien Loop Quiz for this year. This contest has been a considerable improvement over the first. The number of participants doubled from two to four. It is still not great, but my content is not receiving as much traffic as it did a year ago. I am still grateful for the boost from my most regular participants.

How to Play!

SLQ_2026_2_Play.jpg

For those who did not enter, here is a quick recap of how to play. The quiz contains nine multiple-choice questions. Each question has five possible answers. The participant is required to select the correct answer from the five options. The participant who answers the most questions correctly wins the contest. If there is a tie, the participant who entered first wins. There is also a requirement for the winner to answer at least five questions correctly. This is my way of ensuring that the participants have read the books.

The prize for each contest is 30 Hive Power. The entries of the first twelve participants are upvoted.

Explanations

Question 1: This question is from the short story ‘Let Me Entertain You’. The second half of the story is the Ricardo Show. The show focuses on the Entertainment Action Team (EAT). The first guest that Ricardo announced was Mobius the Magician, and he was closely followed by Vector the Ventriloquist.

Question 2: This question is from the short story ‘Let Me Entertain You’. Waldo, or according to Ricardo, ‘Waldo the Stupid’, was the third guest on the show. As part of the interview, Waldo announced his new musical ‘Reaching the Divine’ as well as a new documentary about Sapes at his zoo.

Question 3: This question is from the short story ‘Life Underground’. In my book Sapien Loop: Frozen in Time, Tiberius was trapped underground when the Alset Manor collapsed above the network of tunnels. He somehow survived and managed to freeze himself on one of the pods. How he managed to do this was explained in the short story. Hamish Alset was caught up in the collapse. Tiberius attacked him, causing more injury. The tunnel they were in collapsed further, but Hamish was unable to get to safety.

Question 4: This question is from the short story ‘The G.O.A.T.’. Milly and Lily were Sapiens raised by Linap. They had the Bramley gene that gave them the ability to shapeshift. The Linap who raised them taught them how to use this ability. It was to shield them from other Linap who might harm them if they knew they had this ability. Both Milly and Lily were ambitious. Lily wanted to enter into politics, and Milly wanted more influence in the business sector. Milly saw Pardi as a pathway to gain more power and control. He was the son of the richest Linap in Sapey.

Question 5: This question is from the short story ‘The Special Enforcer’. At the start of the story, young Eugene returns home from school with his examination results. His father, Arthur, was eager to know his results. Eugene revealed he had failed badly. Arthur was disappointed that he had failed but even more disappointed that Eugene was not bothered. After Eugene went to his room, Arthur discussed with Eugene’s mother, Sophie, what they should do. Arthur wanted to be stricter with him and to stop rewarding his failure. Sophie was convinced he just needed motivation.

Question 6: This question is from the short story ‘Hamlet to the Rescue’. Denise, Hamlet, Scott, and fluffy Lily went on a mission to rescue the Sapes trapped in the slaughterhouses. The slaughterhouses were completely mechanised. There was no one there to operate or monitor them. Power cuts would mean the Sapes could be left without food or water. This fear was confirmed when they reached the first slaughterhouse. However, they were able to restore power, which enabled them to rescue the Sapes. They continued their journey to the other slaughterhouses.

Question 7: This question is from ‘Character’s Journeys: Part Seven’. Tarrina was Locum Alset’s wife. She helped Locum raise Sanguine after the rebellion.

Question 8: This question is from ‘Character’s Journeys: Part Seven’. Tiberius was Sanguine’s son, the chief in the North. He arrived in the Capital District after the Alset family sold their assets, and the residents of the north had to leave. On arrival in the Capital District, Sanguine managed to manipulate Governor Ryan into appointing Tiberius as the first Head Enforcer of Sapey. After the stadium disaster, Tiberius became more powerful. Ryan left to grieve the loss of his wife. On return to the Capital District, Ryan decided to resign as governor. In doing so, he also endorsed Tiberius to replace him.

Question 9: This question is from ‘Character’s Journeys: Part Five’. Pardi Carvaress was monitoring the regions for resistance against the status quo. Most resistance appeared to be coming from Adoy. To squash that resistance, he sent his daughter to infiltrate them. While she manipulated the movement. He sent workers from his company to kidnap two girls. His daughter’s job was to push the blame to the Inquisitves. It worked, and the Inquisitives’ movement was destroyed.

Well done!

The Sapien Loop Series

Loop_Series.gif

I am writing a trilogy of books titled Sapien Loop. The first in the series is Sapien Loop: End of an Era and the second is Sapien Loop: Frozen in Time. I published both of these books as ebooks on Amazon, and I have posted completed chapters to my @captainhive account. I anticipate publishing the third book in early 2027. I expect to title this book Sapien Loop: Worlds Collide. In 2025, I plan to write short stories about some of the characters and their adventures. I will post these to my @captainhive over the course of the year.

Brief Summary of Sapien Loop: End of an Era

Sapien_Loop_Full_Hive.gif

This story is based on the fictional planet Sapia and its sole country, Sapey. Sapey is portrayed as a form of utopia for all its citizens. No poverty. No war. Almost no crime. Opportunities for all.

This was enough for most citizens, but not all. In one of the small regions, some of the citizens had become discontent. They felt something important was missing in their lives. Their discontent did not go unnoticed. Some of the Sapey elite wanted to weaponise this discontent to gain more power. This created more chaos than they anticipated. This led to further widespread social unrest.

On top of the chaos, ambition and greed provoked another enemy. This enemy was on a mission to settle both new and old scores.

Brief Summary of Sapien Loop: Frozen in Time

Sapien_Loop_2.gif

This story is based six years after the original story. The Downs Region is still suffering from a serious health crisis caused by the contaminated water. The main characters are desperately trying to find a cure for the illness that has been caused by the water.

One of the main characters has discovered frozen humanoids in hidden chambers. It appears they have been frozen for a long time. These chambers connect to a vast network of tunnels. While exploring the tunnels, one of the frozen humanoids disappears. It appears he has been stolen.

The story takes a step back in time to tell the story of the frozen humanoids. How and why were they frozen? This part of the story also explains the fall of ancient Sapey and the birth of the Sapiens. Can those from the past be able to coexist with those from the present?
