It was after 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I still had not had lunch, I was exhausted from trekking the Volcanera Waterfall and going to Pozo Azul, two different places with different difficulties full of magic, the only thing I wanted to do was to eat and sleep, my daily adventure limit was already exceeded; However, I still had to get to know one more place that was on the itinerary of the trip, we went up in the truck from Pozo Azul to the entrance of the road that had to be descended to go to the waterfall Las Monjas in Calderas Barinas Venezuela, the guides said to encourage the group that it was easy to get there, that it was just a few minutes away when entering the mountain.

Eran pasadas las 2 de la tarde y aún no había almorzado, venía exhausta de recorrer el trekking de la Cascada la Volcanera y de ir a pozo azul, dos lugares diferentes con distintas dificultades llenos de magia lo único que quería era comer y dormir, mi tope de aventura diaria ya estaba superado; sin embargo, me faltaba conocer un lugar más que estaba en el itinerario del viaje, subimos en el camión desde pozo azul hasta la entrada del camino que se debía descender para ir a la cascada Las monjas en calderas Barinas Venezuela, los guías decían para animar el grupo que era facilito llegar, que estaba cerca a pocos minutos al entrar a la montaña.

I started to go down and the road looked good, all cool because it is a cold area with lots of vegetation, I could see fruit plants like lemon, tangerines, oranges and bananas, they took the food to the foot of the waterfall, while descending I could hear and see the water, we arrived and started to eat rice with chicken and vegetables plus lemon juice with paprika, There was also pineapple juice, the food was delicious, I was satisfied and with each bite I thanked God for the food and the opportunity to eat in this special place, with a privileged view, I sighed and chewed, like Shakira chew and swallow, swallow and chew, but happy not angry.

I wanted to enter the water, but I knew it was freezing, I waited a while for the digestion to advance and step by step, I went in. To bathe in the waterfall there are two entrances, one that surrounds the mountain with stones that I thought were slippery, but it was not so, since no water falls on them, walking on the right hand side I found sand, earth and plants, most of the group followed my steps to get to the top, the others went up the other side which was where I returned. At the top there is a giant rock where the most daring of us mounted to pose for photos and as I was one of the first to arrive I got into where the waterfall fell, in the photos it looks small, but it is very high and strong, at its base is pure sand like a beach, the water is so crystal clear and feels like a massage by the waves of water, the only thing that does not allow you to relax to sleep is the noise, the waterfall makes a loud noise to the ears.

Empecé a bajar y el camino se veía bien, todo fresco porque es una zona fría con mucha vegetación, pude ver plantas de frutas como limón, mandarinas, naranjas y bananas, llevaron la comida hasta el pie de la cascada, mientras descendía podía escuchar y ver el agua, llegamos y empezamos a comer arroz con pollo y vegetales además de jugo de limón con papelón, también había jugo de piña, la comida estuvo deliciosa quede satisfecha y con cada bocado daba gracias a Dios por el alimento y la oportunidad de comer en este lugar tan especial, con una vista privilegiada, suspiraba y masticaba, como Shakira mastique y trague, trague y mastique, pero feliz no enojada.

Quería entrar en el agua, pero sabía que estaba helada, espere un rato que la digestión avanzara y paso a paso, me fui metiendo. Para bañarse en la caída de agua hay dos entradas, una que rodea la montaña con piedras que yo pensaba que eran resbalosas, pero no era así, ya que no les cae agua, al caminar a mano derecha me encontré con arena, tierra y plantas, la mayoría del grupo siguió mis pasos para llegar hasta arriba, los otros subieron por el otro lado que fue por donde me regrese. Arriba hay una piedra gigante donde las más atrevidas nos montamos a posar para las fotos y como yo fui una de las primeras en llegar me metí en donde caía la cascada que en las fotos se ve pequeña, pero es muy alta y con fuerza, en su base se encuentra pura arena como de playa, el agua es tan cristalina y se siente como un masaje por las ondas de agua, lo único que no te permite relajarte para dormir es el ruido, la cascada hace un estruendo fuerte para los oídos.

Allí nos sacamos fotos en movimiento lento y jugamos un buen rato, brincamos y saltamos, teníamos que movernos antes de ponernos morados por el frío, quedaron hermosas las fotos, pero lamentablemente la mitad de ellas se perdieron por un virus malicioso en el grupo de Telegram, definitivamente esta es una excusa para regresar. Estos recorridos siempre tiene un nivel de dificultad y sobre todo se requiere concentración, con eso evitamos los accidentes, es algo que debemos tener presente cuando salimos a disfrutar de viajes de turismo y aventura. De este viaje aún me falta enseñarles el pueblo de Calderas y las posadas en las que me hospede, me salte la ciudad porque quede maravillada de las cascadas y la naturaleza.
