If I had more discipline, my life would be different
Discipline is the most important part of success.
What is discipline for me
It is to have enough willpower to do things, even if I don't want to, it is to assume a commitment and have self-control to achieve my objectives and reach my goals.
Discipline is to follow a method for everything, that with constancy becomes a habit, because it is the repetition of an action in a prolonged time.

How should children be disciplined?
Since I do not have children, I will answer this question from the perspective of a woman who worked with children for many years, but before that as an adult who received discipline from her parents.
I consider that I was disciplined lightly for some things and strongly for others, and I feel that I lacked more discipline to receive. Because of this, I have problems with procrastination and find it difficult to achieve my goals, as I abandoned actions halfway or changed goals. I recognize that due to the lack of discipline that I did not develop in my early years of youth I have lost a lot of valuable time, and I am currently learning to be disciplined by forming new habits, such as exercising.
Discipline is fundamental to create successful people, even to achieve happiness, since a disciplined person is organized, constant and committed. Discipline is a valuable virtue, as it allows you to learn things in life and develop skills. Once you are disciplined, life is easier, harmony emerges and chaos decreases, because you have organized the processes making the most of your time.

When I worked with children, I understood that discipline allowed us all to understand each other, I communicated clearly and with character and they followed the rules, this allows a cordial and satisfactory environment that children appreciate, my way of disciplining was with love and if someone did not follow the instructions, first I made sure they understood and if they understood then I had to assume the sanction for their behavior, which could be a cleaning job, or standing for a few minutes, after this it was very unlikely that the child would repeat their indiscipline.
Observing the society where I live, I see that today's parents do not discipline their children, they do not assign them chores at home or give them responsibilities, they prefer to give them a cell phone to kill time, and they do not know what a big mistake they are making, when their children grow up they will not have good habits and will not want to make an effort for anything.
Parents must maintain their character and force them to do things, even if the children do not want to also teach by example, to achieve things you have to follow steps every day.

I am in favor that there are better ways in which to educate children, just like you, I am not a relative (nor do I want to be) and you know that I can attest different ways of achieving educational approach to creating processes that arouse neuroplasty in children, one of them are games, but there are also other alternatives. I think it is very much necessary to educate relatives in as disciplining their children in the right way, and this is not precisely reprimanding them, shouting or delegating responsibility in a teacher/tutor, but rather preparing them for life and achieving an approach from the figure of an ally, and not an enemy. It is the active substance of any psychotherapy 😀. I am sure that if we look at things from this point, we would have a more human world, and people would pay more attention to what is conversed and not so much to the screen of an electronic device.
It's nice to know that even if you didn't get as my h discipline, you're not sparing any for the children around you.
😉 That's right, discipline is everything, a disciplined person is happy. @merit.ahama
