Birthday Makeover Gift 💇‍♀️ [Eng - Spa]

Last Friday was my birthday, and birthdays are usually special for the birthday boy or girl. It is a day to celebrate life and give thanks for it and for the experiences we have had. On this day, we blow out the candles and eat cake 😆, but this year I didn't have a birthday cake, nor did I have one last year. The last time I celebrated with a party and cake was eight years ago, when I bought the cake myself and invited my closest friends, who are few in number.

In recent years, I haven't been lucky enough to receive material gifts on my birthdays, but I have received many good intentions. However, this year there was an exception. My best friend, who emigrated seven years ago, gave me $100, and although I needed many things, I preferred to get my hair done. It was fair and necessary.

I knew my hair was dry and had several colors: black, gray, and brown from an old dye I applied last year about ten months ago. Besides the color, I needed a cut, but since I usually wear my hair in a ponytail or a bun, I didn't realize how bad it looked. I was shocked when I took pictures at home the day before my birthday and when I looked at the pictures the hairdresser took of me.

The hairdressing work cost $120, which is the price in my country where we live in hyperinflation. It's not a cheap job, nor is it that expensive, considering what she did for me, using materials that can cost up to $300. I don't know what this type of hair work is like in your countries, but here it is a luxury. I paid $120 for the cut, highlights, and hydration, and I actually paid her $100, which was the gift, and I still owe $20.

The hair styling took several hours. I arrived at 10 a.m. and left at 4 p.m. Since the hairdresser works from home, she cooked a quick and tasty lunch and invited me to eat some plantain tostones with chicken, salads, and sauces. It was very tasty. If I told you it was a day of relaxation and beauty, I would be lying. That day, my mom had a high fever from a virus, and I was anxious to get home to take care of her and my grandmother, so I forgot to take better pictures of how I looked, but at the end of the day, I felt happy and grateful.

El viernes pasado fue mi cumpleaños y por lo general la fecha de cumpleaños es especial para el cumpleañero. Es el día de celebrar la vida y agradecer por ella y por las experiencias recibidas, este día se soplan las velas y se come pastel 😆, pero este año no tuve pastel de cumpleaños, ni tampoco el año pasado, la última vez que lo celebré con reunión y pastel fue hace 8 años porque yo misma me compre el pastel e invite a mis mejores amigos, que son pocos.

En los últimos años, no he tenido la suerte de recibir regalos materiales en mis cumpleaños, pero sí muchas buenas intenciones, aunque este año hubo una excepción, mi mejor amiga que emigró hace 7 años, me regaló 100$ y aunque necesitaba muchas cosas preferí arreglarme el cabello, era algo justo y necesario.

Yo sabía que tenía el cabello seco y varios colores, tenía negro, blanco de canas y marrón de un tinte viejo que me apliqué el año pasado hace como 10 meses, aparte del color necesitaba un corte, pero como me agarro una cola y prácticamente me hago un moño no sabía que lo tenía tan feo, me impresione cuando me tome fotos en casa un día antes de mi cumpleaños y cuando mire las fotos que la peluquera me tomo.

El trabajo de peluquería salió en 120 $ como están los precios en mi país que vivimos en hiperinflación. No es un trabajo ni económico ni tampoco tan costoso, para lo que ella me hizo colocando los materiales, que pueden llegar a cobrar hasta 300 dólares. No sé cómo serán en sus países este tipo de trabajos en el cabello, pero aquí es un lujo. Yo cancelé por el corte, la realización de mechas, una hidratación, 120 $ y en realidad le pagué 100 $ que fueron el regalo y aún debo 20 $ 🥹🥲.

El arreglo del cabello se llevó varias horas, llegué a las 10 a. m. y salí a las 4 pm. Como la peluquera trabaja en su casa, ella cocinó un almuerzo rápido y sabroso y me invitó a comer unos tostones de plátano, con pollo y ensaladas y salsas. Estaba muy sabroso. Si te dijera que fue un día de relajación y belleza, mentiría. Ese día mi mamá tenía mucha fiebre por un virus y yo estaba angustiosa por llegar a casa a cuidarla a ella y a mi abuela, por eso olvidé sacar mejores fotos de cómo quedé, pero al final del día de me sentí feliz y agradecida.
