Firebugs when in clusters

I once told you that I like Pyrrhocoris apterus very much. IMG_20211006_193535.jpg Mostly because firebugs are harmless and do no harm to anyone. IMG_20211006_193410.jpg They don't attack people and don't bite, no matter what. IMG_20211006_193308.jpg Unlike some "gentle" and beautiful insects that we all know very well, as I told you recently. IMG_20211006_193249.jpg Still, the sight of such a gathering of animals in one place, whatever they are, seems threatening. IMG_20211006_193351.jpg It didn't seem that way to me before. IMG_20211006_193127.jpg I've photographed firebug clusters before and I've never seen them as a threat. IMG_20211006_193439.jpg But this year, with all its climatic features, with all the insect invasions, and with all the new insect species I've seen, the feeling is different. IMG_20211006_193604.jpg

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.
