Life in the neighborhood (Part 2)

Greetings Hive friends, hope you are well. It was about time to share a little more of the other face of Medellín through what may be a short series of black and white photos that I called "Life in the neighborhood" as I said some time ago in the first part here. With this idea I intend to show the other face of Medellín in a rural area on the outskirts of the city that belongs to the corregimiento of San Cristóbal, where you can feel another atmosphere very different from that of the big metropolis to which it belongs.

Among humble-looking but skillfully built houses, the mountains of this district are covered with simple houses, with their walls of bricks, clay blocks and cement, with their brass roofs and tiles worn by the humidity and the sun.

Saludos amigos de Hive, espero que estén bien. Ya era hora de compartir un poco más de la otra cara de Medellín a través de lo que puede ser una serie corta de fotos en blanco y negro que llamé "la vida en el barrio" como lo dije hace tiempo en la primera parte aquí. Con esta idea tengo la intención de mostrar la otra cara de Medellín en una zona rural a las afueras de la ciudad que pertenece al corregimiento de San Cristóbal, donde se siente otro ambiente muy distinto al de la gran metrópolis a la que pertenece.

Entre casas de aspecto humilde pero construidas con mucha habilidad, las montañas de este corregimiento están tapizadas de viviendas sencillas, con sus paredes de ladrillos, bloques de arcilla y cemento, con sus techos de latón y tejas desgastadas por la humedad y el sol.

This way of life rises between the mountains that border Medellín and in the background you can see the great metropolis, prosperous, developed, modern, contrasting with life in the neighborhood

Este modo de vida se alza entre las montañas que bordean a Medellín y de fondo se ve la gran metrópolis, prospera, desarrollada, moderna, haciendo contraste con la vida en el barrio.

Even the vegetation is different from what you see in the city and you can easily see banana and lemon trees in this rural and very green area.

Hasta la vegetación es distinta a la que se ve en la ciudad y fácilmente se pueden ver arboles de plátano y limón en esta zona rural y muy verde.

The green color in the backyards of the houses includes marijuana bushes, as part of life in the neighborhood.

El color verde en los patios de las casas incluye arbustos de marihuana, como parte de la vida en el barrio.

Thus I end this session of black and white photographs, where I play with gray tones and at the end I decide to break the line by closing with a gif to peek the color briefly in this exhibition.
