Another work of engineering and modern architecture in Medellín

Greetings friends of Hive and the Architecture+Design community I have come to share with you another modern work in Medellin. Well friends as you know Medellin is such a big and modern city that is always in constant movement, so you can imagine that it is normal in this city to plan and invest in the transportation system. Of course, here in Medellin you can see that they are busy in having the best to offer a good service to its inhabitants and visitors, so among the various investments is the infrastructure for the operation of the various forms of transport and in this publication I will show you the Ayacucho Tramway or Medellin Tramway, as it is popularly known.

Saludos amigos de Hive y de la comunidad Architecture+Design he venido para compartirles otra obra moderna en Medellín. Bueno amigos como ustedes saben Medellín es una ciudad tan grande y tan moderna que siempre está en constante movimiento, entonces ya se imaginaran que es normal que en esta ciudad se planifique e invierta en el sistema de transporte. Claro que si, aquí en Medellín se puede ver que se ocupan en tener lo mejor para ofrecer un buen servicio a sus habitantes y visitantes, por eso entre las distintas inversiones está la infraestructura para el funcionamiento de las distintas formas de transporte y en esta publicación les voy a mostrar el Tranvía de Ayacucho o Tranvía de Medellín, como popularmente se conoce.

I don't know if you remember that some time ago I told you here about the Medellin subway, a mega work that distinguishes the city and runs through several municipalities. Well, the Ayacucho Tramway is another outstanding work of engineering and architecture that gives another important touch to the urban development of this great Colombian metropolis. Anyone who comes to visit Medellin can also get to know the city from a tour of this electric and urban streetcar that runs through the streets of the city of eternal spring.

No sé si recuerdan que hace tiempo les hablé aquí del metro de Medellín, una mega obra que distingue la ciudad y recorre varios muncipios. Bien, el Tranvía Ayacucho es otra destacada obra de la ingeniería y de la arquitectura que da otro toque importante al desarrollo urbano de esta gran metropolis colombiana. Todo el que viene a visitar Medellín también puede conocer la ciudad desde un recorrido por este tranvía electrico y urbano que va por las calles de la ciudad de la eterna primavera.

The route is on a special track that is next to the city's avenues and passes through the nine stations built in concrete, steel and glass.

El recorrido es por una vía especial que está junto a las avenidas de la ciudad y pasa por las nueve estaciones construídas en ormigon, acero y vidrio.

In every urban project in Medellin the ornamentation of the city is not forgotten that is why the operation of the Ayacucho Tramway offers beauty, modernity and service for a few years, because the truth is that it is young this rail service that is about to turn 10 years working as part of the so-called SITVA which in Spanish means Integrated Transport System of the Aburrá Valley, which covers different forms of transportation in the metropolitan area of this valley that includes the metro, metro cable, metro plus, EnCicla, streetcar and other transport, but the streetcar running is what you can see in this publication.

En cada proyecto urbano en Medellín no se olvida el ornato de la ciudad por eso el funcionamiento del Tranvía Ayacucho ofrece belleza, modernidad y servicio desde hace pocos años, porque la verdad es que es jovén este servicio ferroviario que está por cumplir 10 años funcionando como parte del llamado SITVA que en español significa Sistema Integrado de Transporte del Valle de Aburrá, que abarca distintas formas de transporte en la zona metropolitana de este valle que incluye el metro, el metro cable, metro plus, EnCicla, el tranvía y también otros transportes, pero el tranvía funcionando es lo que pueden ver en esta publicación.

The San Antonio station is a transfer station that connects to the Medellín Metro, here passengers arrive and depart from the A and B lines of the metro and also from the T line of the streetcar. Well, it is a very busy station because it is in the center of Medellin and there are many passengers who transfer here from the metro to the streetcar and vice versa. From inside the metro station I can see two trains of the Tranvía Ayacucho arriving for the transfer, I stay to see the station because it is a strong structure, with a lot of concrete and a lot of height.

La estación San Antonio es una estación de transferenci que se conecta al Metro de Medellín, aquí llegan y salen pasajeros de las lineas A y B del metro y también de la línea T del tranvía. Bueno, es una estación muy concurrida porque está en el centro de Medellín y hay muchos pasajeros que hacen transbordo aquí desde el metro al tranvía y viceversa. Desde el interior de la estación del metro puedo ver que llegan dos trenes del Tranvía Ayacucho para el transbordo, yo me quedo para ver la estación porque es una estructura fuerte, de mucho ormigón y de mucha altura.

I look at the station and also on the railroad the structure and components that provide the mechanism for the electric power supply of the Ayacucho Tramway and of course the steel lines run along the route through the city.

Miro en la estación y también sobre el ferrocarril la estructura y los componentes que facilitan el mecanismo para la alimentación electrica del Tranvía Ayacucho y claro que las líneas de acero van a lo largo de la ruta por la ciudad.

The tram crosses the super populated city of Medellin, a city that does not stop growing as I told you here. I already have four years living in Medellin, well I think I'm losing count, what I am sure of is that in this city they care about improving the quality of life of the inhabitants and I see that innovation is driven, like this streetcar that has rubber wheels and not steel, curiosity led me to investigate and the reason that the wheels are made of rubber is the sloping terrain that characterizes the mountainous geography of Medellin.

El tranvia atravieza la ciudad súper poblada de Medellín, una ciudad que no para de crecer como se los dije aquí. Ya yo tengo cuatro años viviendo en Medellín, bueno creo que estoy perdiendo la cuenta, de lo que si estoy seguro es que en esta ciudad se preocupan por mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes y veo que se impulsa la innovación, como este tranvía que tiene sus ruedas de goma y no de acero, la curiosidad me llevó a investigar y la razón de que las ruedas sean de goma es el terreno con inclinaciones que caracteriza la geografía montañosa de Medellín.

Of course, the Ayacucho Tramway is an ecological work because it protects and promotes the health of the population and the planet. This tramway is the result of good urban planning because it was created to solve major problems and generate a positive impact on urban development with care for the environment.

Por supuesto que el Tranvía Ayacucho es una obra ecológica porque protege y fomenta la salud de la población y del planeta. Este tranvía es el resultado de una buena planificación urbana porque nace para solucionar grandes problemas y generar un impacto positivo en el desarrollo urbano con cuidado del medio ambiente.

The work of the Ayacucho Tramway was done with an impeccable order that guarantees safety, modernity, functionality, beauty and excellence by those in charge of taking care of the urban planning of Medellin, a very developed and touristic city of Colombia, pride of Latin America.

La obra del Tranvía Ayacucho se hizo con un impecable orden que garantiza seguridad, modernidad, funcionalidad, belleza y excelencia por parte de los encargados de cuidar la planeación urbana de Medellín, ciudad muy desarrollada y turística de Colombia, orgullo latinoamericano.
