Throwback on Community Service
Hello everyone, It's been a while since I came here. It feels so good to be here again.
Last week I had the opportunity to reach out to transporters in the community I'm now staying in. My country usually gives the youths the opportunity to reach out to people and make life good for them.
So during the community development services, my group and I went to the market to sensitization transporters, sellers, and buyers on how to stay out of accidents and live long.
I had the opportunity to speak with them, and they were so excited to have us come around. We gave them some tips on how to live without getting involved in any form of accident. The market women were so happy, and then the bike men were so thrilled.
We went to the market very early, and we needed to seek permission from the head of transportation and the head of the market. As youths of the country, we needed to be well-behaved, and as we went there, I got so surprised because a lot of my friends who are always fond of misbehaving behaved so well, and that actually made those transporters listen to us.
I met a man who argued with me when I told him that he should not drink before he drives. He told me that he needed to drink because whenever he does that, he feels energetic enough
to drive. I need to plead with him that he does not need that to be energetic.
We met a group of bike men who were so funny when we talked about scooping fuel whenever it pours; they told us that they get to do that because of hunger and that they would stop doing that if there was enough money for them to eat.
My heart goes all out for them because I understand the risks people take because of what they are going through. We tried to tell them that they should stay away from the act and try to work very hard to make money from riding their bikes.
At the end of everything, we took pictures and then went back to our various destinations.
I felt so happy because I was a part of community development service for that month. I love reaching out to people and making them see life the way it ought to be.
Thank you for stopping by today; I hope to see you next time.
It's good to have you in the community again. Thanks for being part of #tbt Thursdays 🙏
