Bayo's Chin-Up
Bayo was a bright and intelligent child even before he started his basic education. His mother was a teacher, so she taught him some basic things he would likely see in school. As a result, Bayo already knew how to count numbers, spell, and make complete sentences before starting his elementary education. He was the third son in his family and was known to be the brightest.
Before his elementary education, Bayo could spell sentences on his own, so going to school hw did not stress his teachers at all and all his teachers loved him for that because they knew that he would not stress them.
When Bayo started elementary school, his intelligence stood out, and he quickly became the favorite of his teachers and classmates. He would complete classwork before his teachers even instructed the class, and his classmates constantly relied on him for answers. He even helped students in higher classes when they were stuck.
There were times when questions from the higher were answered by him. His head teacher loved him for that and used to be proud of him.
Bayo's excellence in academics earned him the opportunity to represent the school at a mathematics competition. However, he was absent on the competition day due to sickness. When he resumed school the next day, Bayo acted strangely toward his teacher, and his behavior remained odd until he finished his elementary education.
His head teacher called him to ask him what happened
"Bayo what happened yesterday"
he answered as if he was not telling the truth.
"I was not feeling too well ma"
His head teacher knew that he was not telling the truth but she did not want to go further into the case, she only told him that all was well.
When it was time for the first school leaving certificate exams, everyone expected Bayo to come out as the best, but surprisingly, he didn't. Bayo was disappointed, but his mother encouraged him, reminding and telling him that
" you are more than awards". Despite this setback, Bayo continued to excel in his basic education.
He was still outstanding in his school, he stood out in all the subjects and kept making his school proud of him.
When it came to mathematics Bayo was the best and used to even correct his teachers when they made mistakes but he did it politely.
Years later, Bayo encountered Mrs. Jane, his former teacher, who made him unhappy during his elementary school days. He felt sad throughout the day when he saw her again in his classroom. However, Bayo eventually came out as the best in his exams and was prepared to get his award at any cost.
"Mummy I will be making you very proud tomorrow"
He told his mother with so much confidence and his mother was so happy to have given birth to him, saying to him that
"Dad must be proud of you wherever he is"
They stood up with mixed feelings in the room, remembering that his father was no more.
Bayo went into his room and cried bitterly.
On the day of the award ceremony, Bayo's mother accompanied him to the school. While walking close to the administrative block, they discovered that Mrs. Jane was trying to cancel Bayo's name from the list of awards.
"What Jane"
Bayo was so surprised to hear his mother calling his teacher's name as if they knew before.
"Mom do you know her"
Bayo asked his mother
"You thought you were smart"
Bayo's mother became angry and shouted at Mrs. Jane. The principal of the school intervened and took them to her office.
The principal asked for an explanation, and Miss Jane shared her story. She revealed that she and Sarah were classmates in secondary school and later in the same university. According to her, she had a boyfriend who wanted to marry her, but when he met Sarah, he left her. She held a grudge against Sarah since then.
When Sarah brought her son, Bayo, to school, she didn't realize that Miss Jane taught there. Miss Jane decided to make Bayo's life miserable and found out about his Basic school. She applied to teach there to continue frustrating Bayo.
Bayo explained that he turned down the offer to attend the competition at his elementary school because Miss Jane told him that she would kill him if he went. So he stayed back and went home because he was not feeling well.
The principal resolved the issue and returned Bayo's award to him. Despite not winning the award at his elementary school, he accomplished it at his Basic school.
Hahaah, a full of twist story.
Yea, thanks for stopping by
Welcome. 😊
Some teachers are not just worth it. They would frustrate students to their last levels. Anyways, it's best bayo found his balance.
Yeah, thanks for stopping by
Hmmm... That's quite a whole lot within a short time frame.
Bayo must have been through hell witnessing such series of events with his Mum and Mrs. Jane who was hell bent on making life a living hell for him. I hope he eventually got over it
I pray so too.
I have a slight experience of this story 😔 frustration of student
I hope you scaled through
Bayo academic excellence and his ability to rise above adversity serve as an inspiration to me
