Why self Love comes first before societal expectations

Sometimes there is a certain one thing or the other in which, when we say it, people might not really align with us. In as much as we all are in the same environment, we have our different perspectives in which we tend to view things from in life. People might see this particular thing from angle A, and once you are now seeing it from angle B, part of it, you are not on the same page with them at all. Especially in societal views, there is already a pattern drawn in which this is looked onto, and apart from that angle, you are not on the same page with them all.

You see, this self-love can sometimes be underrated in a way that is not good and healthy for oneself. You see one trying to do that in which he or she doesn't like or won't want to do, but just because of how people would see it, their minds can now be altered. In life we ought to know and bear in mind that we are the architects of planning and not others. People's opinions might really matter, but that should not define the things in which we are doing.

I remember during my secondary school send-off party, then we were given a color dress code in which we were going to put on that day. My mom and I went to the market, and on making a selection, my mom was now combining the clothes and jacket for me. I really liked it, and it was indeed a beautiful one, but I was considering if the students would really like it. Then in my mom's words, are they the ones wearing it, or are you the one wearing it? That is to tell you that as that scenario happens, then it might also be influencing people. You are the one wearing your shoes, and only you know the areas in which that shoe is paining you.

It is an unpopular opinion, but I believe we should prioritize our self-care in life; it is indeed a good thing, and we should make it a great priority in life. We should also try to break those societal norms that it should be done this way or the other way round.

There are really great reasons why self-love comes first before societal expectations, and we should always show oneself great love.
