Making a house a home
This is my entry to the Hive Learners Weekly Contest.
This is truly a nice prompt to key into as Hivers. The rent in my community is actually a fair one. I would not say that the money paid for housing in this area is very big—though it might seem much—but compared to other areas, we can truly say that we are enjoying. Even though the situation in the country is not an easy one, the truth remains that rent here is not that much. I live in Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. When compared to places like Onitsha and its environs—areas that are more modernized—our rent here is still very fair.

If I were to look for a new apartment, there are certain things I would really look out for:
Nearness to Church
This is very important to me, as I would always prefer to live close to a place of worship of God Almighty. The presence of a nearby church matters a lot.Proximity to Schools
Education is vital. I would check if there is a school nearby, how good and functional it is, and if it would be suitable for children to be enrolled in.Access to Health Facilities
Health is wealth and must be treated with the highest priority. One should always consider the presence of good health facilities in the area. Truly, when we are healthy, we can function better by God’s grace and mercy in all that we do.
Above all, committing everything into the hands of God Almighty remains the greatest measure. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Beginning and the End, who perfects all things by His grace and mercy.
As the saying goes, “once bitten, twice shy.” It is not every time we should allow ourselves to make the same mistake twice. Asking questions is very necessary, because “he who asks questions does not miss the road.” People already residing in the area can provide better insights, and this helps us avoid stories that touch the heart. After all, we are not just seeking a house, but striving to make a home—and that should always be our priority.
No one would want to go out and still come back without relaxation by God's grace in one way or the other. A home is indeed a home and should be tried to make as such so one would not relent in that in which he or she is doing and try to do it well. House hunting is really not an easy one but in all we keep moving. Settling also for that less is not an option in whatever in which we might be doing.
Making a house a home is one great thing and of a true it is highly achievable and we in one way or the other should always try so 🙏.
We keep hoping for the best .
