Daily prompt: King of Fools

It might seem to people that once you are at the top, you cannot take corrections again, and everything also revolves around you. It is not good as the president, no matter who, still has numerous advisors that advise him on one thing or another to do.It was not different in King Ifeme. In the land of Umuoma, where wisdom was prized above all else, the king was young, handsome, and adored by his people for his charisma. Yet beneath his golden crown and majestic role, he was a king of fool. His decisions were often impulsive, guided by his pride for himself rather than the people whom he ruled.

His courts were always filled with flatterers always ready to tell him that which he wanted to hear from them. His advisors, who were very wise, often grew silent as they noticed that their advice was not being put into practice by the king.
One day a great man of great knowledge came to the village. He heard of the king's behavior and decided to pay him a visit, though he knew that it might not be easy for him.
Edmund entered the king's court and stood before him, and the king asked him what brought him to his court, and he answered that he came to advise him.
You are a king of fools, he told him bluntly. You wear a crown, but your heart is blind, and you lead with ego, in which your kingdom suffers greatly.

This really got to the king, and the great teacher advised him to have humility even though he is the king and to act in service to others, not just himself.
In that moment the king made a vow to change and turn a new leaf. Though he cannot undo the damage already done, he could start anew.
Edmund, seeing the changes, smiled and left the king's chambers.

King Ifeme, now no longer a fool, became a ruler who sought true wisdom, and in time, his kingdom flourished. The people no longer feared their king but respected him, for he had learned that true leadership was not in wearing a crown but in having the humility to serve and great love and sacrifice.

We keep hoping for the best. 🙏
