I’m Somiie 😊, a writer fueled by creativity, chocolate🍫, and a stubborn belief that even the smallest stories can shift perspectives and touch hearts ❤️. I believe words have power — the power to heal, connect, and inspire. I’m proudly Nigerian, currently based in the vibrant city of Lagos, where life is loud, colorful, unpredictable, and bursting with stories waiting to be told.

I just wrapped up my one-year youth service to my fatherland (NYSC) — an experience that challenged me, shaped me, and reminded me of the strength in community 🤝🏼. That year (which I personally think should be reduced to six months) taught me about resilience, adaptability, and how much beauty there is in stepping out of your comfort zone.

Beyond writing, I’m deeply in love with art 🎨, wellness 🌿, and nature 🍃. I believe that taking care of your mind and body is just as important as chasing your dreams. Whether it's a walk under the trees 🌴, trying out a new mindfulness habit, or simply breathing in stillness, I find joy in the little things. When I’m not scribbling ideas in a notebook 📝 or reading something that stirs my soul, you’ll likely find me experimenting in the kitchen — mixing flavors 🍲, failing gloriously, or stumbling upon my next favorite recipe.
I have a knack for capturing nice nature sceneries. I’m not even gonna lie, nature can be so beautiful and very demure that I can’t help but take shots 📸 whenever it strikes a pose!

I also love to sing 🎶 (even if it's just for myself🙃), binge good movies that linger in your thoughts long after the credits roll, and connect with people who are open-minded, curious, and kind. I have a strong aversion to closed minds and an even stronger one to roaches 🪳 (ugh!).

How I Found My Way Here:

I was introduced to this platform by @Obaleevi, someone who believed in my writing even before I did. He was like “Somiie, why don’t you share your writing skills instead of always scribbling in your notebook?”
At first, I was skeptical. Writing had always been my private space — a quiet corner of comfort, just for me. But his words lingered in my mind. He didn’t just suggest it and left me to it — he referred me to @Princessbusayo, who was kind enough to guide me through the process and answer all my questions.

Still, I hesitated. I postponed it again and again (trust me, I became an expert at finding excuses). But after a week and several excuses later, here I am — finally taking that first step.

This space is where I’ll be sharing my journey — the real moments, the growing pains, the wild dreams, the little wins, and everything in between. I’m not just here to post; I’m here to connect 🤍. To learn from your stories, celebrate your creativity, and be part of a community that lifts each other up.

I’ve come on board to challenge myself — to show up more, to share without overthinking, and to connect deeply with people across borders. I want to explore new ideas, meet beautiful minds, and be inspired by the endless ways people live, create, and express themselves.
