The World Bank halts any future funding for Uganda 🇺🇬 due to its anti-gay law

Ugandan authorities and the World Bank will continue discussions after the bank pledged to withhold new funds due to Uganda's new anti-homosexuality law.

Uganda 🇺🇬 is concerned about the bank's decision as it has already received $1.7 billion of the allocated funds.

The World Bank stated that the law contradicts its values of inclusivity and non-discrimination and undermines efforts to eradicate poverty.
