The birthday blame

It always seems a lot easier to push blames to every other person out there than to actually accept one's fault and take responsibility for it and whatever downside that comes with it. Afterall when you talk about the blame game.......... two can play that game, lol. But responsibility comes solo.

And for the prompt which asks if I've ever falsely blamed someone for my own fault, it's a big yes. I have done that a couple of times but I ensure it's not in severe cases that could cause harm to the other party in one way or the other.

Throughout a certain week last month, we had little or no electricity. Powering up my devices became a hustle given that the price of petrol is anything but friendly. So I had to make do with low battery percentage of my phone and the partially charged power bank.

Last month happened to be my shaylaa's birthday month as well and following our duo tradition, I should be the first person to send her a birthday wish and equally post her on my WhatsApp status.

Not that, not doing so doesn't mean I don't care about her but we simply made it a norm. And on the afternoon eve of her birthday, I had 23 percentage left on my phone and few online activities to finish up..... Just wow!

Then my little bro decided he wanted to play games on my phone while I was in the kitchen trying to fix up a meal. When I noticed, my phone was five percent down.

The next minute, an important notification I had been awaiting for days came up followed by a gist-ful call from one of my bosom friend and that was it. I dived into my phone and used up the whole battery. Realization dawned on me the moment I received the message,

Phone shuts down in 30seconds, 29, 28... Heck!

I had no hope of powering my phone till later in the morning the next day. Her Dday. When I eventually did and called her as she literally screamed my ear drums off, I told her my little bro ran down my battery.

His five percent usage gave me the perfect pretext to blame him for my own fault after allowing myself to get carried away by the juicy gist arrayed by my friend, lol.
