Sb - Chronicles: My Peace from childhood

Heyooo everyone 😊 ...... It's my first time participating in the community's prompt and I must say, it's quite relatable.

That childhood friend of mine whom has and will always be in my heart goes by the name Peace. My Peace. Too bad I'm quite possessive about her and unfortunately, I don't have any picture in my possession 😔.

I held onto her for as long as I can remember before we eventually parted ways when her family relocated to another state.

I can't quite remember how this legendary friendship of ours began but I do know we attended the same preschool and eventually got into the same primary (elementary) school. She wasn't the tallest girl in class but was quite taller than me then, pretty, jovial and friendly.

She is born into a Christian family which was different from my family's doctrines and while she had five siblings, I had four. Asides from these, we were pretty similar in literally everything else.

We spent our times either playing or studying in the library, always together just like bee and honey to the knowledge of all, both teachers and students. Everyone called her us twinnies as we never ceased to stick together, shared all we had and defended each other even if it ends with us crying at the end of the day, lol.

Our friendship bloomed up to our last year in primary school with a bit of fights and arguments here and there but we still remained best of friends. This bond of ours extended to our moms and even siblings and not much after, turned into family friends.

She was that girl who always found a way to make me smile in her own little way which I reciprocated, so when she told me her dad, who was a police officer was transferred to another state in our country, I nearly cried my eyes out.

Scratch that......
I cried my eyes out. It was so sudden and the dad wasn't buying the idea of leaving his family behind so they all had to leave.

I found it so hard to take in the fact that my very first friend was going to be miles away. I felt her absence more than I thought I would when she left. At first, we were able to maintain contact through our parents but after a while, things kinda went southward and we completely lost touch.

I've never seen her since then but I still remember her pretty little face while trying to picture what she might look like now.
And wishing she hadn't forgotten me.

Thanks for reading
