Just a bowl please

Shout out to all foodies out there, me being the first on the list. But when it comes to Korean cuisines, I'm more than a foodie. Perhaps I wouldn't mind being the food. Except a food can't eat itself 🤭.

My love for Korea runs deep and it all began by watching their movies which always manages to intrigue me right from childhood and all thanks to my brothers. At first, I found it quite hard catching up with the words through the subtitles but my love for it however pushed me to read the lines quickly.

Over the years, I've come to realise Koreans have this tendency of having the table filled up with yummilicious delicacies even if it's just one person eating. How I wish that is the case here in Nigeria.

Having watched a lot of scenes where their meals were displayed, the first that caught my eye which is definitely my first choice would be jjajangmyeon. Though I prefer to call it black bean noodles.

That noodle dish coated with jjajang, the black bean sauce. I learnt it's made from various vegetables, fermented soya beans, meat or seafood.
If you're wondering what is it about jjajangmyeon that drew me in, then to be honest, the fact that it's a food is enough reason, lol.

Everyone loves comfort and no doubt, having a delicious meal is quite comforting. Jjajangmyeon is a popular comfort food in Korean. The noodles which is often chewy alongside the deep , savoury flavour is a perfect contrast, not to mention when eaten the instant it's dished out.

Even though it's said to have originated from Chinese culinary traditions, Koreans didn't cease to adapt to its recipes to suit local taste.
The fact that it's often eaten together also presents the value and importance of food as a means of bringing people together.

And when I get to have a bowl, I expect the steaming aroma to blow me off my feet before I'm graced with a chopstickful of this hearty, comforting meal😋.
