Fang-tastic friend

I stumbled upon the prompt and the first thing that came to my mind was Twilight.

Bella pieced everything together and found out that Edward is a vampire. She freaked out initially which is quite understandable but then her love for him prevailed and she was keen on knowing more about him and his world.

This is a different scenario and I believe that's because love was involved. A very strong emotion. But in this case, it's a friend. But for such person to reveal that, he has to be a close one.

I would be lying if I say I won't have a heart attack right there and then. A million thoughts will race through my head as the realisation sets in, that I've been friends with an immortal, blood-feeding creature for God knows how long. Chatting, dining and hanging out.

However, I can't just up and leave as any rash decision might be the end of me so ending the friendship is not an option.

I had never been friends with someone I don't feel comfortable around or someone I don't connect with. For someone to be a friend of mine doesn't necessarily mean we'll have the same likes and dislikes or agree on everything. There has to be a level of mutual understanding, respect and trust.

Such will definitely be the case with my vampire friend so I will dive into a series of questions, asking as many as possible without holding back.
I know for a fact that restraining themselves from sucking fresh human blood is one thing that can be quite challenging for vampires. Yes..... there are animals and blood bags but those are mere substitutes. It doesn't equal to the satisfaction they derive from a fresh blood.

On that note, I would love to know how he and his family has been able to tame themselves and ward off hunger while interacting and living in the midst of humans, blending smoothly like one of us.

If his response is rock-solid, then I can chill out and based on that, this secret of his will definitely remain a secret. I won't go about telling all Tom and Jerry in town about the identity of his family.

However, having the scoop in this sort of situation won't permit me to live wild and carefree. My vigilance will automatically heighten as I scrutinize every act of his' alongside his family incase their primal side takes the better part of them.

And yes, my friendship with him will definitely take a hit. He might succeed in assuring my safety but won't be able to suppress the knot of fear which I know, will be deep-seated in my stomach.

It will be impossible for me to see him the same way I used to when I thought he was simply a human like me, knowing fully well that he could end my life and several others within seconds and that too, without a trace.
