Be a voice...

A bottled feeling can never be felt, a muffled cry can't be heard and an unspoken thought..... also can't be addressed.
But our voice, it elicits peace, freedom, healing, opportunity. It sets boundaries, boosts confidence, clarifies misunderstandings, elucidates communication and accords respect.

No doubt there are cases when our silence does the trick but most of the time, our voice is the only thing capable of clearing the air and failing to speak out leaves us bonded to a good number of disasters.

Few days ago, I went to a CBT center to get some stuffs done, which I must say really stressed the life out of me. The moment I rounded up all I intended to do, I was already outside the gate in a hurry to get home, eat and have a good rest.

Few feet away from the estate 's entrance, I noticed a commotion. From where I was, I could see a plump woman thrashing a young girl while at the same time, screaming at the top of her lungs with a crowd gathered around her merely watching while some just passed by like it was only a show going on.

When I got closer, a guy was telling a few people around him what actually happened and the whole story boiled down to the fact that the girl wasn't at fault, which the woman who happened to be her madam was also aware of.

Two ladies to my right kept murmuring, going on and on about how inhumane the woman was being. But that only infuriated me.
If they were just going to stand still viewing the scene and whispering about the wrong being meted out on another without bothering to defend the girl, then why should I keep hearing their hushed voices like that of a mosquito?

It was pointless because their hushes wasn't going to save the girl from the whole drama but a voice will.

All the while, the woman continued her display. I pushed through the crowd until I got to the point they were, then dragged the girl to crouch behind me. The woman gave me the how dare you look and instantly told me to mind my business while in reply, I told her to stop broadcasting her spotless underwears to the world.

I'm not going to go into all details of the tussle but ohh.... it was very intense, especially when few people finally decided to grace their voice on the matter. I wouldn't know the girl's predicament behind closed doors later on but I did well to give the woman some words for thought and I'm quite proud for that.
