RE: Review of Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo (ENG-SPA)

Without a doubt, One Hundred Years of Solitude was a story that overshadowed many novels that also explored magical realism. In fact, it is said that the Colombian author was inspired by the work of Salman Rushdie, who explored the resource in The Satanic Verses.
I hadn't read Pedro Paramo, but I like the fact that it explores magical realism within Latin American culture. I will try to read it. thanks for the recommendation!
I don't think García Marquez was inspired by Salman Rushdie's “The Satanic Verses”. As far as I know, One Hundred Years of Solitude was published in 1965, and that of the English writer in 1988. Now, if you tell me that the Colombian Nobel inspired both, it would be very plausible. In fact, Gabo once testified his fascination for Rulfo's narrative.
If you dare to read some Rulfo, you won't regret it.
