Coffee and good conversations [ENG-ESP]

There are two ways I usually enjoy my coffee: alone or with a good conversation; in this case, I love doing it in a coffee shop, as I feel that it is a better way to talk about work or everyday life topics. This is not to say that I do not like to talk and drink coffee at home, although I must admit that this happens very rarely. I have been energizing some of my activities and, therefore, I have visited some coffee shops to try to make work conversations less hectic. Believe me, without a doubt, a simple coffee can change the mood when stress and hustle threaten you.

Conversations flow by themselves

When I go to a coffee shop to drink coffee and talk about work, I don't usually focus so much on talking about work; first I enjoy my coffee, and I talk about some topic that is different: life, family, personal projects or some things that are trending on social media. On most of those occasions I go with a coworker, who loves coffee as much as I do and who also knows all the good coffee shops in the city perfectly. Often, people mistake us for a couple and draw hearts on our cups, to which we respond with laughter. After discussing many topics, we focus on our work area; we organize ideas and propose others. This method allows us to think better, without so much stress... the most important thing is not to drown yourself in heavy conversations at the beginning.

So, when it comes to work and coffee: first we add genuine conversation and, halfway through the coffee, we focus on talking about the tasks we have to do. If the conversation goes on too long, we order another cup. The good thing is that with coffee it is impossible to get bored.

There are no limits to a good conversation

Although I mostly visit coffee shops for pleasure or for work conversations, there are times when I invite my brother to enjoy a coffee; We usually talk about anything, especially gym-related stuff and the challenges we face, he at university and I at work. We do this every Friday, as it is the day when our schedules are the most free. I almost always order a Latte, as I usually drink espresso at home.

The last time we visited a coffee shop, we managed to pair the coffee with pizza. It was delicious, plus the service was very good and the place smelled of coffee powder; it was quite a pleasant aroma. My brother is a born lover of conversations about movies and TV series, so we talk about it for a long time, although I must admit that he ends up talking more than me. I feel that coffee makes us feel more comfortable and, in some way, leads us to talk more naturally.

Are you one of those people who likes to chat and drink coffee?

If it comes to accompanying a conversation with coffee, I don't think there are any limits. In any place and circumstance, whether at home or in a coffee shop, it is very enjoyable to share and exchange topics of interest with an Espresso or a Latte, or with any derivative that comes from that drink that we love so much.

Hay dos maneras en las que usualmente disfruto mi café: en solitario o con una buena conversación; en este caso, me encanta hacerlo en una cafetería, pues siento que es una mejor forma de conversar sobre temas de trabajo o de la vida cotidiana. No por esto quiero decir que no me gusta conversar y beber café en casa, aunque he de admitir que esto pasa muy poco. He estado dinamizando alguna de mis actividades y, por ende, he visitado algunas cafeterías para tratar de que las conversaciones por trabajo no sean tan agitadas. Créeme que, sin lugar a dudas, un simple café puede cambiar los ánimos cuando el estrés y el ajetreo te amenazan.

Las conversaciones fluyen solas

Al momento de ir a una cafetería para beber café y hablar de trabajo, no suelo enfocarme tanto en hablar sobre el trabajo; primero disfruto de mi café, y hablo sobre algún tema que sea diferente: vida, familia, proyectos personales o algunas cosas en tendencia en las redes sociales. En la mayor parte de esas ocasiones voy con una compañera de labores, que ama el café tanto como yo y que, además, conoce a la perfección todas las buenas cafeterías de la ciudad. Usualmente, nos confunden con una pareja y dibujan corazones en nuestras tazas, a lo que nosotros respondemos con risas. Tras dialogar sobre muchos temas, nos enfocamos en nuestra área de trabajo; organizamos ideas y planteamos otras. Este método nos permite pensar mejor, sin tanto estrés... lo primordial es no ahogarse al principio con las conversaciones pesadas.

Entonces, cuando de trabajo y café se trata: primero se agrega la conversación genuina y, a medio café, nos enfocamos en hablar sobre las tareas que debemos realizar. Si la conversación se alarga mucho, pedimos otra taza. Lo bueno es que con café es imposible aburrirse.

No hay límites para una buena conversación

Aunque la mayor parte de las veces visito cafeterías por gusto o por conversaciones de trabajo, hay ocasiones en las que invito a mi hermano a disfrutar de un café; solemos hablar de cualquier cosa, sobre todo de las relacionadas con el gym y los retos que enfrentamos, él en la universidad y yo en mi trabajo. Esto lo hacemos cada viernes, pues es el día en que nuestros horarios están más libres. Casi siempre pido un Latte, pues suelo beber el café espresso en casa.

La última ocasión en la que visitamos una cafetería, logramos acompañar el café con pizza. Estaba deliciosa, además, la atención fue muy buena y el lugar olía a café en polvo; era un aroma bastante agradable. Mi hermano es un amante nato de las conversaciones sobre películas y series de televisión, así que de eso hablamos largo rato, aunque debo admitir que él termina hablando más que yo. Siento que el café nos hace sentir más cómodos y, de alguna forma, nos conduce a hablar con más naturalidad.

Si se trata de acompañar una conversación con café, no creo que existan límites. En cualquier lugar y circunstancia, sea en casa o en una cafetería, se disfruta mucho compartir e intercambiar temas de interés con un Espresso o un Latte, o con cualquier derivado que provenga de esa bebida que tanto amamos.
