Other people's gardens / Jardines ajenos

I’m always looking for subjects to practice photography, sometimes I have to think a lot and other times the ideas just appear before me, so it happened to me with the images that I present in this post. I was passing by a house that has many plants in the yard, and when I looked through the fences I saw those little boots with flowers and immediately I said to myself: “Other people's gardens, I like this title for a series of photos”.

Siempre estoy buscando temas para practicar fotografía, a veces tengo que pensar bastante y en otras ocasiones las ideas simplemente aparecen ante mí, así me sucedió con las imágenes que les presento en esta publicación. Iba pasando por una casa que tiene muchas plantas en el patio, y al mirar entre las rejas vi esas pequeñas botas con flores y de inmediato me dije: “Jardines ajenos, me gusta este título para una serie de fotos”.

That same day I passed by other places and captured three more photos, and a few days later I took the rest.

Ese mismo día pasé por otros lugares y capturé tres fotos más, y unos días después hice el resto.

This hunt for other people's gardens was not easy, I felt like a spy in most of the shots, because somehow I was invading those houses.

Esta cacería de jardines ajenos no fue fácil, me sentí como una espía en la mayoría de las tomas, porque de alguna manera estaba invadiendo esas casas.

I had even thought about what to say if someone caught me taking pictures of their garden, my justification would be: “excuse me, I just liked your flowers”, or something like that... That made me nervous but luckily, it didn't happen.

Hasta había pensado qué decir si alguien me cachaba tomándole fotos al jardín de su casa, mi justificación sería: “disculpe, es que me gustaron sus flores”, o algo así… Eso me ponía nerviosa pero por suerte, no sucedió.

I also had to be careful not to attract the attention of any passerby or neighbor of those houses, as I did not carry the camera but the phone, it can be better disguised.

También tenía que estar pendiente de no llamar la atención de algún transeúnte o vecino de esas casas, como no llevé la cámara sino el teléfono, se puede disimular mejor.

As you can see, in all these gardens I got flowers, I don’t know if it is because of the dedication of their owners or because we are in the rainy season and they come out anyway.

Como ven, en todos estos jardines conseguí flores, no sé si es por el esmero de sus dueños o porque estamos en temporada de lluvias y salen de cualquier manera.

One photo I couldn't get the way I wanted to was this last one, of a garden with a beautiful wagon as part of the landscaping. The problem was that there was a man there sweeping the yard, and when he turned around for a moment, this is the shot I was able to get quickly without him seeing me. At least I tried.

Una foto que no pude hacer como quería fue esta última, de un jardín con una hermosa carreta como parte del paisajismo. El problema fue que había un señor allí barriendo el patio, y cuando se puso de espaldas por un momento, esta es la toma que pude lograr rápidamente sin que me viera. Al menos lo intenté.
