Analog cameras, my small collection 📷🎞️ Cámaras analógicas, mi pequeña colección

Cameras are something I have seen up close since I was a child, my mom always took pictures, on vacations, birthdays and other moments she saw as special, so it wasn't strange that I also wanted to have a camera to experience photography.

Las cámaras fotográficas son algo que he visto de cerca desde niña, mi mamá siempre tomaba fotos, en las vacaciones, cumpleaños y otros momentos que veía especiales, entonces no fue extraño que yo también quisiera tener una cámara para experimentar la fotografía.

So this time I show you the small collection of analog cameras that I still have, although I haven't used them for a long time, there are five of them and they all work. I will start with the oldest and the only one that is not mine, it belongs to my mom, but she gave it to me years ago to keep it.

Así que en esta ocasión les muestro la pequeña colección de cámaras fotográficas analógicas que aún conservo, aunque hace tiempo que no las uso, son cinco y todas funcionan. Comenzaré por la más vieja y la única que no es mía, es de mi mamá, pero me la dio años atrás para que la guardara.

This camera, a Kodak Disc 4000, always enchanted me because of its particular format, it didn't use a 35 mm film roll as it was the most common, but a disc-shaped one.

Esta cámara, una Kodak Disc 4000, siempre me encantó por su particular formato, no usaba un rollo de película 35 mm como era lo más común, sino uno en forma de disco.

With a little lever you open the back of the camera and there you place the disk, which had a capacity of 15 photographs.

I looked for some information on the Internet and found that this camera was launched in 1982, with the idea of innovating both for the type of film and for being automatic, the disc only took a second to rotate after taking a picture. The size of the negative is quite small: 10.5 x 8 mm.

Let's go with the next camera, and it's the first one I had, I remember I saw it in a store window and it caught my attention too much because of how weird it was, first I thought it was a toy, but no, it really took pictures 😆.

It's totally plastic and fits in the palm of your hand, it was cheap, I remember I bought it with the money my dad gave me for my little school expenses 😄.

It didn't come in a box, so information about it is almost nil. It has the signature "Pierre Cardin" on the front and a "Made in China" label on the back.

Another curious thing it has is that to take pictures you must unfold the black tab, that is the viewfinder, the frame through which you must look to shoot.

Anyway, I remember having a lot of fun with this miniature, I took it to school, on walks, and although the image quality wasn't very good, it left me with its shots for posterity 😄.

Let's continue, this is the third camera in this collection, I'm showing them in chronological order, and it's the second one I bought, when I was a teenager, a Fujifilm Clear Shot II. I think it is the most used one, I took pictures with it during the last years of high school and then in college.

It was launched in the late 1990s and used 35 mm film, the most popular format in analog photography. It uses a battery and has a built-in flash.

This is a normal camera, nothing special, that a lot of people had, but I'm not complaining, I took a lot of great pictures with it and I think it helped me improve my skills.

The fourth analog camera I have is a Polaroid, and I bought it before going on vacation. Digital cameras had already come out, but at that time I didn't have the budget for one, so I bought this one with roll film but automatic, with autofocus, a decent lens, zoom and flash, not bad eh?

Ya habían salido las cámaras digitales, pero en ese momento no tenía presupuesto para una, así que me compré esta que era con rollo de película pero automática, con autoenfoque, un lente aceptable, zoom y flash, ¿nada mal eh?

Like the previous one, it takes 35 mm film and batteries because it is automatic and with flash. I liked it a lot because it was easy to use, anyway soon after I bought my first digital camera, I remember it was in 2007.

Many of the analog photos I have, I have been digitizing them little by little with a scanner, it is good to keep them safe just in case.

And now, the fifth and last one. This camera that I show you below was let's say, an eccentricity 😄, I came across it on the Internet and I loved it, so I bought it, this was not so long ago, about 8 years ago.

Y ahora sí, la quinta y última. Esta cámara que les muestro a continuación fue digamos, una excentricidad 😄, me topé con ella por Internet y me encantó, así que la compré, de esto no hace mucho, unos 8 años.

And a great thing is that through it I discovered lomography, an incredible movement of analog photography.
