The Price of Obedience

     Chapter 6.

Well; before christmas, the whole family especially Mrs. Dera uncle D's wife; was already tired of Abi been scolded for different crimes that a teen her age should be scared of; first, she beat up an old women in the street and threw stones at her daughters for asking why she did that. In the process one of the womans daughter got heat in the breast from the stones Abi howled at them. Her dad had to take full responsibility for it and take the family to the hospital to be treated and taken care of.
Second; she poured hot water on Bethel's elder sister, simply because she came to see Kemi her elder brother. As if that was not enough she told Emerald that's Kemi, to her face that her brother would never date a low life like her talk more of marrying her. She went as far as fighting her over the issue, Abi publicly disgraced and humiliated her, apart from the fight that almost happened if not for the intervention of the family.

The relationship between Emerald and Kemi was actually an open relationship one and both family knew Kemi had intentions of making her his wife when he was done with school. It pained him so much that his sister would cause so much pain to her and he almost hated Abi for that. Thank God Emerald did not sustain major injuries from it, so there was no scar and she was grateful to her creator for that alone. From that day onward she became scared of coming to the Adeleke's house. Not because she was despised by any member of the family but she didn't want to have anything that would lead to Abi hurting her or her family.
Thirdly; Abi was sent to get eggs from the market on getting there, she as usual abused and emptied a whole crate of egg on the sellers face simply because she was asked to greet an elderly man sitting inside the shop.
The last incident that broke the carmel's back was when some angry mob almost beat her up for breaking the head of a young man with the car jack simply because, he asked sir, Korede her driver to re-park well, so he could also pack his car. The guy was unconsciously bleeding yet Abi felt to a iota of regret for her action she simply said; he had a choice to park his car else where and avoided her yet he had the audacity to touch her with his deformed hands.
Abi's dad almost lost his mind as he settled to cleaning her mess from one stage to another. At the end of xmas and new year celebration Abi had caused enough trouble for the whole family to a lent where she was almost arrested for hitting a police officer.
As if that was not enough, she chased Roselyn her therapist out of the house with a knife, threatening to kill her if she ever set foot to the house again.
In all this Abi was not bothered, Mrs. Modupe her mother started having hypertensive attacks as she ended up thinking she has given her husband a female curse and not a daughter. Mr. Jude alomst developed an heart attack that lead to Modupe's mom and him been admitted at the hospital. And in all this Abi wasn't moved neither was she bothered. Instead she continued her habit with an increased rate of nonchallantness.
