Period and Giving Care
Hello hivers, this is actually my first time visiting this family and I do hope am welcomed here. So I would be talking about period and care giving, I would love to share my little knowledge on this topic. And I will love to start from
What is period?
Period is the stage of a females life when monthly bleeding occurs in women as part of the menstrual cycle. it is also the shedding of the uterus lining, which occurs when an egg is not fertilized.
There are certain things, we anticipate on that very period, though some do not have such but its an occurrence in any female who is still experiencing menstruation.
- Pains: Its one of the most common signs of menstruation, though not all pains are menstrual related, but menstruation comes with a sign of discomfort in almost all parts of the body.
- Irritations: most persons tend to be likely irritated when on their menstrual flow. it at times comes with itching, swollen face, leg and others.
- Unnecessary cravings: the hunger for things that aren't really necessary, you want to certainly eat what you don't even have, at most some persons begins to suspect pregnancy. until test shows negative. relax aunty menstrual flow also do that.
- Emotional imbalance: you don't even feel normal, you don't know if your fine or not, everything just looks upside down, you just feel like crying. its always complicated.
Yeah, my live that's menstruation, am actually talking from experience and honestly its not easy going through those periods.
Now, without wasting much time let's me talk about period and care giving.
We all know that anything that has to do with care giving is an act of guiding, protecting or being there for something, not minding its worth, errors, or what people say about it. For those of us who are nurses we are taught to give holistic care to our patients. Yes that what care giving entails the spiritual, physical, and all aspect of support we give to ourselves and others during this period. Now to be honest am not one of those who advice usage of drugs for menstrual pains, but I would love to give few tips that I feel would not just aid, but help us all.
- Drink enough water: During this period you tend to loose water too, cause we all know that the body is going through some metabolic changes and stress, so I would actually advice you to be rehydrated to help you push through.
- Rest well: yes we are workaholics, but try to rest well. Relax your muscle, rest. so that you don't break down, the body is already going through a lot if things and adding stress is joy the next options pls. I know we must work based in many reasons, but even while you work, pls take a break, so you don't break down.
- Exercise yourself: walk around a bit, do little sit ups, jog if you have the chance, try to exercise your muscle, they all aid very well in your menstrual flow.

- Be neat: Do you know that most pains felt in menstruation has infection, sometimes attached to it, have a separate undies do menstruation, don't use your normal everyday undies to see you period and still wear them again. okay, I know things are beautiful everywhere and some of us do not have TV leverage to have as much undies as supposed, then I would advice, you Mai sure to wash, sun dry and pls iron if you have the opportunity to or better still remove two or three out of you undies and use it only for those special times. it will help to avoid infections and other health related things attached to menses.
- Eat responsibly: hmm, many of us eat like we do not plan to eat again, I want you to understand that your diet affects your flow, there are certain foods, drinks, beverages or things that actually triggers, more pains to us while menstruating. if we could cut down on those things it actually would help us to have a blissful and less stress period.
With this few points of mine, I think I have been able to convince and not confuse you that menstruation needs care, and period plus care giving is we taking care of ourselves before and after menstruation.
