RE: Snakes Surreptitiously Sneaking

My Daughter saw a moccasin in the water here, and asked me how to catch it. Since she was fishing for catfish with a treble hook, I told her to cast across it, and haul back to snag it. She did, and said "I got it!" Followed by "I don't want it", LOL!!!!

Fortunately, when she stopped pulling it in; it got off the hook. She was relieved, and went back to fishing for catfish....

Hahaha that’s awesome! Those treble hooks are nuts! I’ve caught a few fish recently by the barbs getting stuck in them. One on the back and one yesterday on the belly. Funny stuff!

There is a fish here called a paddle fish, and the only way to catch it is by snagging. There are some just below Keystone dam in the swift water. Since a hundred pounds and 5 foot long is possible, combined with fast water; tackle used for deep sea fishing is needed, to land one.

Sink that hook, and it's War....

Damn dude that’s wild! Sounds like a lot of fun lol I’m sure people who don’t know look at you funny why you’ve got deep sea tackle lol

They sell a lot of heavy fishing gear for those beasties! Some of the catfish here are in the 40 pounds range too, and occasionally there is a noodler that gets drowned...the catfish won.

Hahah no thanks, noodling isn’t something I think I would ever be doing but that’s wild. I guess we have carp here that requires heavy gear, some 40-50 pound ones in the major rivers in the area.

They do get big for sure! We caught one on a yo-yo that was big enough that it broke the hook, when I tried to string it. My Daughter was relieved, because she told me we didn't have room in the boat for it!

I understand that carp pressure can quite well, I'll have to try that. We can take carp with a bow and arrow here, with no catch limit.
