Summer vacation in Dubrovnik (Croatia)
I have already said that I try to travel when possible. After all, the last two years it depends not only on my desire and finances, but also on how the pandemic is going.
Fortunately, I managed to visit Croatia and visit several cities. Today I will show you Dubrovnik - a city in southern Croatia in the historic region of Dalmatia.
It is located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and is the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful cities in Southern Europe, often called the "Pearl of the Adriatic".
Its most interesting feature is the stunning old town, surrounded by a ring of fortress walls with a maze of atmospheric narrow streets and old buildings with red-tiled roofs.
The historic centre of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has gained widespread popularity thanks to the Game of Thrones series.
Dubrovnik is one of the oldest and most important cities in Croatia. It was founded in the 7th century and throughout its history has been a major commercial and cultural centre, a seaport. In the Middle Ages, Dubrovnik was the only city that competed with Venice for dominance in the Adriatic.
In addition, the city was one of the centres of development of the Croatian language and literature. Now Dubrovnik is a popular resort and seaport, a city with a rich history and stunning architecture, impressive churches, monasteries, museums and fountains.
I have a lot more photos from there, but if I publish absolutely everything, this page will never load 😂
The climate is warm subtropical. The average annual temperature is over 16 degrees. The temperature of the coldest month (January) is about 9 degrees with a plus sign. Summer actually lasts from May to October.
Dubrovnik is a fairly safe city. Basic safety precautions must be followed. Also, when walking around the city you need to wear comfortable shoes because the cobblestones on the streets can be quite slippery.
In the old town, there are many shops selling local handicrafts and traditional products, as well as clothes and shoes from famous brands. Most people in Dubrovnik buy wine and other local products, textiles (handmade tablecloths, bed linen), ties (which, according to Croats, were invented in their country).
In the historic centre of Dubrovnik, there are many cafes and restaurants that offer about the same menu with lots of fish and seafood. Despite the fact that the cuisine here is not very diverse, it is of good quality, delicious, using only fresh ingredients. Here you can also find good pizzerias with wood stoves, pizza in which is not worse than in Italy.
But the most fascinating here is the numerous beaches, warm sea, as well as various architectural monuments.
Wow, incredible place! I already want to go there! Everything looks so cosy and calm!
Thanks! Well, come here next summer)

This view if simply amazing, I like it.
I also really like this shot! That is why he is the first) although the sea is not visible here, but there are mountains and a bunch of different colours and architecture
A beautiful and picturesque city. That color of the water is dreamy. And it's good that it has been declared a heritage site, that's how part of the history is preserved ❤️.
This is an incredible place and I believe that everyone who has the opportunity should visit it at least once
There is still a lot of interesting things behind the scenes
It is a beautiful town, one of those that one would like to live there.
Living there is definitely a pleasure. Quietly, calmly, everyone around is smiling, there is something to look at and almost two steps to the sea. Just heaven on earth
