What Makes A True Disciple. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW


Being a disciple of Christ, we must follow all the teachings of Jesus Christ. When we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ which He gave to the church, that is what will make us the disciples. A master teaches his followers what he wants them to learn. Those teachings define what the attitudes of the followers will be. A true follower will look like what he has been taught by his master.

Matthew 17:5 (KJV) While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Jesus Christ is our Master. We are his followers. To prove that we are his true disciples, we must take heed to all his teachings. There is no other way that we can prove our allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ than for us to learn to comply with the teachings which we are receiving from him.

John 13:16 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

If you are wondering what the teachings of our Lord are, we can find His commandments in the doctrines which we are taught in the Bible. The Bible contains the lessons from our Lord Jesus Christ. We should be obedient to all that is commanded us in the Bible. As a true disciple, one must give time to study what is the word of God from the Bible.
Matthew 28:20 (KJV) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
