The Image Of God. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

The Bible tells us that God created us in his image. I love this because it gives me dignity. I carry the image of God. I am not in the likeness of animals. Scientists tell us that we are in the same class as the animals. I believe that they are wrong. They are wrong because we, as humans are created in the likeness of God. We are not created in the likeness of animals. The animals themselves are not created in the likeness of God. They are animals. That is why they cannot be like us. They do not have minds to think. They cannot repent from their sins. They have no conscience. Animals do not belong in the same class like humans.

We are distinct from the animals because we are in the likeness of God. What is the image of God which we carry? Is it having two legs? No! Is it having two eyes! No! The nature of God that we are possessing is not about our physical body. It is not about our two hands or our head. No, we are not resembling God in our physical appearance. We represent God because he made us to live with him and relate with Him. Animals cannot relate with God. God is not having any relationship with animals. That is why animals will not stand in judgement. We are the one who possess the likeness of God.

The likeness of God is about the attributes and qualities that look like God. We have the ability to love because God is love. So, walking in love makes us to look like God. God is love and his children too will love. Those who do not love does not know God. The Bible says that anyone who does not love does not know God. We are like God is we live righteously. Any person who is not living righteously does not have the nature of God. Those who do not have the nature of God are children of the devil. They possess the nature of the devil.
