that our faith might not stand on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God
That is it! Our beliefs and our faith should not stand on the wisdom of men. We should not believe because of the sweet words which we are hearing from men. It should not be the eloquence of our orators that entices us. We should not even be enticed into believing in God. We should believe because we have seen His power.

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (KJV) And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

The enticing words of man’s wisdom. What are these enticing words of man's wisdom? These days we have heard several interpretations of the Bible. Many of these interpretations are based on human selfishness and greed. The lust for material things has made several preachers of the word of God to emphasize more on tithing and financial prosperity. Let us not allow ourselves to be carried away with these deceptions.

Our faith should stand on the power of God. The Bible says that God declared that Jesus Christ is the Son of God through power. It was by the manifestation of God’s power that Jesus Christ was announced to the world.

Jesus Christ told us that we should believe because of the mighty works which he has done. So, it is clear evidence that God demonstrated His power to prove who he is to us. The word of God is a parcel carrying the power of God. It is this word that we should believe. We should not be influenced by the ideologies of men. Philosophies and ideologies are not the foundations of our faith. Our faith is standing on the word of God and the power of God.
