Hearing But Not Listening To The Bible. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

Hearing the word of God and doing it is what God expect from us. We are to be obedient to the word of God. The life that God wants us to live is a life that always obeys the commandments of God. The commandments of God are in the word of God which is written in the Bible. When we read or listen to the teachings of God’s Word from the Bible, we will be able to do what God commands us.

If we hear the word of God without doing it, we are not listening to what God is teaching us from His Word. We are to listen to the word of God which we are hearing. When one hears something and does not exhibit it in his life then that person doesn't actually listen to what he is hearing. When we are not listening, what we are hearing will not have the effects in our lives.

To listen involves assimilating and understanding what we are hearing. It is when we have listened and assimilate that we can live out the word of God that what we are learning from the Bible. Let us try to understand what we are hearing. Obedience to the Word of God depends on how much we are understanding the Word of God.
