Children: The Hope of the Nation

It's important to recognize the value of being around children. Children are truly a gift from God and are the future of our nation. Any nation that fails to invest in its youth is ultimately hopeless.

The children we see today are like mustard seeds that, when planted in fertile ground, grow into something mighty. It's what we instill in our young ones today that we'll reap tomorrow as they mature. If we sow hatred in them, that's what they'll reflect back to us. But if we sow love, they'll reciprocate with love. If we guide them today, they'll lead us correctly tomorrow. If we lead them astray, they'll make life difficult for us in the future.

Being around these little ones brings back memories of my own childhood. Over the past few weeks, these wonderful kids have kept me busy in various ways:

• Writing their lesson plans
• Providing counseling and support
• Managing their behavior in class
• Participating in extracurricular activities with them
• Checking and grading their work
• Teaching them
  
  Although this commitment has taken up much of my time, I don't regret it. I believe that "anything worth doing can only be done well with efficiency and sacrifice."
