ECHOES OF A FADING FRIENSHIP

Usually I don't like discussing about my relationships to people. Though Am this one person who doesn't love keeping friends, but I think have had someone who I have been so close to few years back. He was really nice guy but he had his own kind of weakness that I couldn't condone. I call it weakness because he had display too may of that on different occasion. So I believe that what ever negative behavior a person doesn't have control over, is a serious weakness. ***image edited with canva***

I don't know, but this really has reminded me of the past. Am not a difficult person. I don't keep mute on people, I mean I don't ghost people. But to what state that I did that with a very close person, was totally crazy.

Fredo, my close friend, one who was just like a brother. Our friendship has thrived since we were kids, and we have stayed strong through pains and gains. However, Frado had a very serious Repulsive behavior I perceived to be a kind of weakness, I mean, a very serious weakness, a kind of life style not suitable for friends.

This guy will do anything to win favor, even if it means betraying those closest to him. I should call him a "cunning sycophant", and a high-ranking one at that. I was so surprise to know that Frado went behind me to get a contract for himself, The contract both of us were hunting for. This contract was to be handled by both of us. How did he win the contract for himself? He betrayed me to the company's board of directors, so they could award him with the contract all alone.

After I realized this, Fredo vanished for six months no calls, no messages. This was someone who lived with me, wore my clothes, shoes, and used everything I had. But suddenly, everything changed because of an 18 million Naira contract. It was so annoying, and disappointing.

I swore never to answer his calls again. Unfortunately for Fredo, the quotations he provided for the project were entirely inaccurate. The funds ran out before he even realized it, and the company held him accountable. Fredo was forced to use his own money to complete the contract.

You see? sometimes in life things happen; Some people attempt to harm you, believing they're cleverly outsmarting you, but unknowingly to them, they are saving you from big trouble. What if I was involved in this shit, I could have been using my hard earned money to work for another man's company, just for a single mistake ?

I thought of it, there was no need to grow annoy with this guy. This guy was in a very dip shit. He tried calling me several times, he even came by several times to plead for forgiveness. Instead of continuing to ghost him, I chose to offer him valuable advice. I didn’t provide any money, as I didn’t have enough to spare. You see, it all happened this way, I let it go, but both of us can never be as close as before.
