Christmas Magic in Florence: A Festive Stroll Through the Renaissance City
Hello dearest friends,
Finally, my first post dedicated to Christmas has arrived! Recently, I was in Florence. Unfortunately, and I say this because I don’t particularly enjoy visiting big tourist cities, I had to go there for an important client. Luckily, visiting during this period was more pleasant, especially since Florence itself has been beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays.
I managed to take some photos in the evening, as that was the only time I had free after wrapping up business with this client. It had been quite a while since I last took a stroll through Florence. I still remember that my last visit was to see an exhibition. Being the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence has so much to offer in terms of sights and history.
However, I had never seen Florence during the Christmas season. Most of the times I’ve been here were in summer, when it’s much hotter and, as usual, the city is overwhelmed with tourists. Though, I must say, even in winter, the crowds aren’t much better.
I’m always amazed by how the majority of shops, especially the luxury ones, are packed with people buying things. I imagine most of them are tourists looking for souvenirs to take home, though I’ve seen some items with prices that are almost unaffordable.
I also came across some stalls selling food and Christmas-themed items, possibly local crafts. Unfortunately, some of my photos didn’t turn out well because my phone struggles to take good pictures at night—they tend to come out blurry, and I’ve never quite figured out why.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I hope to be a bit freer from work over the coming weeks. In theory, I should have time to visit other interesting markets, and I’ll definitely share more photos here with this wonderful community. See you in my next post, and as always, I wish you all a great day!
