Working inside my lab on a small wooden sculptures of mine.

An happy Friday to all hivers here!
Cloudy day here and the natural light in the corner where I use to paint my small oil on paper was not so good as I like to have to work, so I decided it was time to start a new wooden small sculpture to work inside my lab.
You know I don't love to take pics of myself and so, when I want to share myself and what I'm doing, like a sort of compromise with myself, I use to take pics in black and white. 😁

As you can see, in one of my hand I had a wooden mallet. I use this kind of tool to work with chisels for the first steps to sculpt a piece of wood.

To watch better what I'm doing, the following pic is with colors (but without me 😂 ):

The first step to sculpt this kind of piece is just to "sketch" the nose and the simple face, after I'll use a dremer to work better on it and on some details.
Maybe some of you remember my freaky small wooden sculptures, but for the ones who don't know anything about the series I called "Monolocali Biculi", you can see some of my previous ones in the following pics:

This was the first steps, but stay tuned to see the final result of the piece.
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

The sculptures on the last photo remind me of an artist we had onbthe legacy chain, she used to paint all kinds of wood pieces. I love the idea.

I love yours.

I started this series of small sculptures around 10 years ago for one of my local exhibitions. The theme was around the thought that the houses where we live can be similar to us and, at first the sculptures were just a pice of wood I cut in form of house with 4 screws used like legs and a couple of painted large eyes . Along the time I work more on them and they became more complex than before. Just to know, I use to paint them with oil colors because I like how the shades of oil colors work on wood. ❤️
