Work in progress of a new oil on canvas.

An happy Monday to all hivers here!
A new working week is just started and I hope you spent a nice weekend in your favorite way. Here is another sunny and warm day, so I'm working with my brushes and colors close to the open window, while my furry friends Nanny and Bimba are sleeping in a corner of my backyard. I can listen the songs of the birds in the gardens of my neighbors.

Today I'm here to share with you the work in progress of a new oil painting on canvas I started around one week ago. It's a canvas 50 cm x 70 cm (19.6" x 27.5") sized.

I think I need another week to finish this piece, but in the meantime I'd like to share with you some pics I took while I was working on it inside our lab room. 😊

As you can see, at now I just gave the first brushstrokes to capture and fix the right shades of colors of the scene.

The subject is one of my usual women with a scene about home on her head.

This is the corner of the lab where I use to work on it (when there are no lesson of the art class of my hubby, sure):

You can see in the previous pics that the dress and the little house on the air are in a shade of red color (I used a "Pozzuoli red" oil color), but before to decide to use it, I tried an ocher/ light brown shade:

Watching that dress on those shades of colors I thought it could work better in a more "powerfull" color and so I decided to use the red.

When it will be ready to dry, I'll share with you the final result, stay tuned!
