Upcycling old cover of a destroyed book: part 2
An happy Saturday to you all!
I hope you weekend is going well. I started my Saturday inside the bookshop of my friend Roberta, where I interviewed the italian authors Francesco Casamassima about his novel titled "Tempo libero" (it means "Free time") just published. He's a nice guy who wrote a novel about a lonely man and a lonely woman who meet each other during a real estate tour. In the novel, the author explore the theme "house/home" like a sort of metaphor of the life of normal people (and you know how much I love to explore this theme in my art ^_^ ) and, just for example, the main characters started their relationship room by room, exchanging each other their experiences, memories and thoughts. The name of the author is Francesco Casamassima and he is a psychiatrist in Florence, so it was a very interesting talking with a touch of humour too.
Well, when I came back at home I had a lot of "houses" in my mind and so I took my brushes and colors and a old, destroyed cover of book I stored in my lab to give it a new life!
In the following pics, you can see the final result:
I really like to give a new life to the old books saved from the trash. Along the time me and my hubby collected many oarts of destroyed books to use for our pieces of art and my favorite parts are the covers and the bindings.
For this one I used acrylic colors a some touches of white ink and, as usual, I took some pics while I was painted it :
Soon I'll add this new artwork to my Artfinder shop (link at the bottom)!
I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
